This volume of Naruto includes another thirteen episodes of this great series but it still suffers the same problems as the first thirteen episodes. The first half of this volume concludes the mission to the Land of Waves, and these episodes are great if a little predictable. The second half of the volume sets up the trainees for the next step on the road to becoming a ninja, the Chunin Exam and although these are interesting they are a bit of a comedown from the previous episodes.

Overall this volume is good but the series still suffers somewhat from an overabundance of recaps and a tendency to repeat itself ad infinitum. The final episode on this volume `Special Report: Live from the Forest of Death' is the worst the series has produced so far, being nothing more than a rather lacklustre clip-show. At this point the series is showing its potential but it is far from a flawless performance, not unlike Naruto himself.

Kage Bunshin!... 15 Jan 2007
Naruto's all good, and this second part of the Anime series is excellent. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that I feel the fight on the bridge gets dragged out too much, and then there's a really poor episode - 'Special Report: Live From The Forest Of Death!' - which lets things down. However it is still one of the best Anime series out there, with some superb scenes that really show how superior the Japanese are at cartoons. Oh, and I havn't watched the English dub. Anime is Japanese, and it sounds best like that with the English subtitles on
