After confronting Sasuke and seeing how much his former friend has grown in strength, Naruto returns to Konoha with a desire to get stronger himself. As such Kakashi develops a special training regime for Naruto that takes advantage of his abilities in an attempt to get him to discover the form of his chakra and develop a unique technique to make him even more powerful. However, this training I interrupted when Naruto and his team are sent to investigate the desecration of the graves of powerful ninja and uncovers a plot that could threaten Konoha itself.
This fifth volume of episodes from the `Naruto Shippuden' series contains a further thirteen episodes across two discs. The first few episodes of this volume focusing on Naruto's training are quite good with some interesting information about the nature of Chakra and some funny scenes here and there. After this however the volume gets into the grave robbers filler arc which while not as bad as some of the filler storylines the show has had in the past is still somewhat average and isn't nearly as good as the proper storyline. Having said this, this filler arc does include some nice expansion of the background of the series and the character of Asuma as it gives a bit of detail of his time serving as bodyguard to the head of the Fire Nation.
Overall while this volume isn't bad, it is distinctly average and I feel that if I am generous than a score of three and a half stars would be appropriate.
