Product Description

As the preliminaries to the third phase of the Journeyman Ninja Selection Exams begin, the student ninja face off against each other in no-holds-barred, one-on-one bouts. Deaf to Sakura's pleas to withdraw from the contest and despite the crippling effects of the curse placed on him by the nefarious Orochimaru, Sasuke enters the first match against one of the vicious Sound Ninja spies. But with his signature fighting techniques suddenly off-limits, how can Sasuke possibly prevail? And even if he manages to survive the violent brawl, Orochimaru's curse is threatening to change Sasuke forever!

One-on-one battles 13 Dec 2008
By T. R. Alexander TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
In this eighth volume of the Naruto manga the surviving competitors for the Chūnin exams must go one-on-one in order to advance to the next round, while Orochimaru's plans continue to develop.

This is a great volume with some nice action as some of the characters who have yet to fight get too show what they are capable of. As well as this volume includes some information on the history and purpose of the Chūnin exams as well as some more background for the relationship between Ino and Sakura. The plot does go a bit slowly in this volume, sidelined in favour for the great battles but this isn't a bad thing as the volume is still greatly entertaining.

Naruto Vol. 8 19 Jan 2006
Format:Paperback
Volume 8 completly opens a new mind to Naruto.
During the premilinary battles, you get to see most ninjas show their powers.
Volume 8 is mostly about rivalries and heading for the top, there is also a chance to see the sensei's for Suna(sand) and Oto(Sound).
The most interesting part of the volume was seeing Kankuro's "Scarecrow" in action.
In volume 8, you will learn more and more skills used by Ninjas(theoreticly anyway)
