a solid volume 4 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
Well, to say the least, you must have prior knowledge of naruto, and pefrebaly up to date (with this point). This Volume takes of from the emotional high from volume 53, and gets right into the action.
This volume does contain key battles and does have an emotional scene concerning konan (not trying to spoil!! :p)
Overall, i really think this was a great volume, its pacing is quite fast, but not to fast and you can finish this in one sitting (if your upto that task, and also since its not too long).
It isn't the best manga volume of naruto but its sure is one great one, especially the fight with kisame and Gai (you can see it on the cover, but i won't spoil it). Plus, it leaves of on a cliffhanger, so the next volume should be just or even more epic than this one.
Totally recommend to any naruto fan out there.

Guess who's back! 22 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Volume 54 of Naruto contains chapters 505 to 514.
It is rated T for Teen (13+) due to realistic and fantasy violence.
If you are new to Naruto, start from volume 1. You won't understand it otherwise.

You can tell from the cover that this is going to be an action-packed volume!
We see an incredible fight between Guy and Kisame! Also a lot of past characters return and more flashbacks. It ends with Madara getting a power up (and a nice new mask).
I'm impressed with the amount of techniques and ninjutsu Kishimoto-Sensei can think of. There are hundreds of them in Naruto!
Another thing that impresses me is the art. The backgrounds are detailed, the character's emotions are easy to read and the movement is amazing.
The previous volume is still my favourite but this one is just as good!

"Peace Viaduct" 19 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
Volume 54 of Naruto contains chapters 505-514:

505: Nine Tails' Chakra Opened!!
506: Guy vs Kisame!!
507: A False Existence...!!
508: Shinobi Death Style
509: Peace Viaduct
510: Forbidden Jutsu Shock!!
511: We Shall Return
512: The Truth About Zetsu!!
513: Kabuto vs Tsuchikage!!
514: Kabuto's Plan!!

This volume has to be one of my favourites in particular from the entire series as Naruto finally gains control of the 9 tails, Guy and Kisame have an epic rematch, There is a brutal showdown between Konan and Madara and then the 4th Ninja War begins to ramp up near the end with a clash between Kabuto and Oonoki the Tsuchikage. It also contains some interesting flashbacks of Konan and Kisame as we learn more about them.

Definitely a must have in any Naruto fans collection!
