Product Description

Review

'a few truly great designers [...] are not hindered by product conventions or trends, and bring a distinct vision to bear upon any problem to create something different. Naoto Fuksawa is on of these designers. ... At a time when design can often seem to be heading off into abstracted self-expression, the clarity and intelligence that Fukaswa brings to bear on his work is welcome and much-needed.'
Design Week

'It's rare to flick though a book of product design and find that you want to own - that you need to own - almost everything in it, but this monograph [...] is one such book. ... [Fukasawa's] products contain the irresistible combination of being ingeniously clever while looking fabulous enough to make your neighbours green with envy.'
Creative Review

'one of the first true design heroes of the 21st century. ... [a] must-have new monograph'
Elle Decoration

'well illustrated throughout and interspersed with thought-provoking insights into Fukasawa's own philosophy of design ... offers an enlightening glimpse inside the mind of one of the most unpredictable contemporary product designers.'

Beautiful Book 23 Mar. 2010
By Yuebo Wang - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I read through the book from the first page to the last. It is a beautiful book. Beautiful in many ways. His design philosophies penetrate into his every design piece. The design themselves are beautiful in both the outlook and the design rationale. What interested me the most is that he shared his thoughts and design details of the designs, which are very inspiring and valuable for young designers.

Amazing 17 Jan. 2008
By M. Schneider - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is a fairly comprehensive look at one of the most prolific product designers today. The conceptual drive of Naoto Fukasawa's work is incredibly inspiring and seeing his projects and prototypes displayed in a, roughly, 9 by 10 inch format is great for visual reference.

Beautiful book, extremely valuable lessons to learn from Fukasawa 25 Feb. 2011
By Hasnep - Published on Amazon.com

This was one of the first books I got when I began studying Industrial Design. Fukasawa was an inspiration then just as he is now during my senior project. His cultural influences are so keen, and apparent that you can understand his thought process very clearly. Great design that stems from a culture of simplicity and efficiency, from form to the communication of the thought process, Fukasawa is a master anthropologist, and designer. I highly recommend this book, specially the hard cover that apparently is becoming a collector's item. I got mine for less than $100, 4 years ago.

A great insight into Fukasawa's design methodologies. 29 April 2013
By JUNJUN - Published on Amazon.com

Beautiful hard cover makes the book stand out. It has examples of Fukasawa's designs from his early days to his own +-0 collections. An inspiring book that makes you think about how simple designs co-exist in complex environments.
