Product Description

Product Description

On a cold September morning in 2003 Ziv Navoth woke up, stared into the blank screen of his computer and wrote for 30 minutes. He did this for the following 146 days. The result is Nanotales--83 stories with attention deficit disorder. The nanotale is a quick fix that guarantees to transport readers into another world and back in 7 minutes. Like any good drug, the results can be pain, panic, euphoria or ecstasy, depending on the story.

From the Publisher

Nanotales is published by Franc Roddam's Ziji Publishing.
Ziji's stable of debut hits include Clive Woodall's international success
One for Sorrow which was sold to Disney for $1million, and the worldwide
bestseller, The Last Templar by Raymond Khoury, which topped the charts in
the UK, Germany, Norway, Czech Republic and appeared in the top ten in the
New York Times bestseller list for eleven weeks.

Wicked idea! 25 Feb 2007
Format:Paperback
What a great idea! But not just an idea - this book really delivers! Well, these stories really deliver. The hype about a new genre of literature for the masses who can't sit through a film at the cinema without rustling papers and ruining it for everyone, is not only true, but these stories are provocative, touching, engaging, inspiring, thoughtful, witty and plain funny - choose one to suit your mood! If you don't like it, turn to another, and then come back to the first one on another day. Characters you believe in, fresh dialogue, identifiable dilemmas - and real plot development in just a few pages. A wicked read...

The hype about this being a paradigm shift in literature is largely marketing rhetoric. This is just a collection of short stories. The decision not to name them, nor give the volume page numbers is a strategic one. But that does not make this revolutionary, and those who believe it does are credulous.

But although it is not a new genre, as the publishers gleafully and disingenuously claim, it is an entertaining book. 81 very short stories, many of which are truly entertaining, none of which are truly bad. Some hit the mark, some miss it, but not too widely. There's a preoccupation with death and loss which makes the tone dark in places, but there's humour and love in there too.
