Asterix & Obelix XXL makes full use of the technical features of current gaming technology to produce an extraordinary image of the universe of Asterix and Obelix, through 6 gigantic levels and 49 challenges, each more astounding than the next.
The two heroes have been given a new look and now appear in high-definition 3D. Their characters are more clearly defined and the technology reflects Atari's approach to the universe of our irrepressible Roman bashers. Also, players no longer have to choose between the characters: they can control both Asterix and Obelix at the same time! This "PAIRING" is a videogame first!

Great Fun!!!!!,

This review is from: Asterix & Obelix XXL (GBA) (Video Game)
Asterix and Obilex is known for it`s comic fun and this is no exception. It`s in full 3D (which is great for a GBA), it`s almost like a PS1 game. The gameplay is good but sometimes repetitive as you have to keep collecting roman helmets. A really fun bit is switching characters for different skills (Asterix moves fast and jumps high while Obilex fights well and moves things). The game is bright and colourful especially with the backlight on the GBA sp. The game is massive and I`ve had it a week and only about halfway into it!It`s a great game well worth getting. Go and buy it!

This review is from: Asterix & Obelix XXL (GBA) (Video Game)
Maybe this review has been a long time coming and the reason for four stars as is the previous reviewer stated it is a repetative game and some of the collision detection between character and environment is slightly poor. But overal Atari have managed to achieve something on the graphically challenging gameboy advance that no-one else has managed so far. The 3D is very much like a playstation game and even more shocking the graphics run very smoothly even with a lot going on. The main objective is to get to the end of each level and pick up all the items throughout and defeat all the enemys. There are the occasional puzzles but mostly its collect kill and complete. Buy this now very rare game if you can, the graphics will make your jaw drop even if the gameplay is slightly dated
