While I was buying books for an adult student in cosmetology, I found this book to have a lot of good basic techniques in nail art, even though is is written for the age range of 9-12. The book comes with water based paints which even the adult can use for practice.

I bought these for my 8 year old and she loves them. The paints are waterbased and therefore safe for her to sit and paint her own nails. The paint peels off easily and the book gives plenty of design ideas.

I bought this book for my daughter, but had just as much fun. The paint peels off easily, but can be covered with clear nailpolish and will then last longer.
