The reviews on this product seem to fall into 2 categories, those who are new to it (and mostly hate it) and those who have used it for a long time (and love it)
I have used it for 18 months now and I wouldn't use anything else. That doesn't mean my first time was easy, but for once I learned from my mistakes! The wise guidance given on other reviews should be followed. Namely, IGNORE the instructions.
A full pot does take about 4 mins in the microwave but you should check it often (I've melted a pot before now!). Make sure you stir it, to even out heat distribution, and always test on a non sensitive area first.
And "Yes!" expect to reheat it a few times. Remarkably, wax sets unless you keep it warm! A full wax now takes between 1 or 2 reheats, but it used to take me 4 or 5 when I first started using it.
If this is your first time using wax yourself then start small until you get a feel for it. The spatula is great for applying the wax, although the thin one in the pack is next to useless. Having applied a small area of wax you must wait until it has only just set before ripping it away (you can test by carefully tapping the applied wax). It is a good idea to 'roll up' a small edge of the wax whilst it is still soft, to give you a point to hold onto when you pull. If you leave the wax to set for too long it will break as you pull, which is irritating and more uncomfortable. Once you know what you are doing you can make the sections you wax larger.
Overall hair removal is excellent. The whole process is much easier if you have a willing helper, but failing that invest in a good mirror, bright light and yoga lessons! A few sheets of kitchen roll on a towel are a wise precaution as you tend to be a bit messy when you first use it.

This was a very brave purchase as salon hollywoods have been excruitating, left me red and sensitive for 4 days after and even ripped my skin off (strip waxing). After carefully considering the reviews I bit the bullet and bought a kit and watched a you tube video on how to do your own brazilian with hard wax. The shapes are a gimmick just threw them straight in the bin. Yes it did take longer to heat than stated 3 and a half to 4mins and I took a small slow cooker with water upstairs to reheat the wax in, got out an old towel, a hand mirror, lamp and baby powder and took a deep breath. Yes some more spatulas would be useful. I should mention that I am a little 'patchy' down there from a groupon ipl course and the phillips lumea precision to begin with but there are some areas they cannot reach. If you want a total smooth look that lasts- it has to be a Hollywood wax! I took two ibuprofen beforehand just in case but ladies I would rather use this than ever go back to a salon as there was minimal pain! It took me two hours in all setting up and clean up but I found there to be little mess as you can just pick the wax off before it sets it did get a little stringy at times but nothing major. I may have lost a denby plate however which it was stood on (any hints on how to get the wax off would be appreciated!) but small price for the experience of minimal pain and redness. The wax seems to take off whatever hair it touches so if you've missed a few use one of the detailing spatulas and pop a tiny blob on just to cover it and whisk it off. I did bruise a little but then I am a tender flower and could just be down to my technique and I had a few blood spots in 'denser' areas (inner labia and perineum) but again the wax took off whatever it touches.Read more ›

If you are doing the brazilian waxing for the first time ever, DON'T. Go to a professional couple of times before you attempt to do it to yourself just so you can get the hang of it. If you've done this before but not with this particular brand, DON'T. There are better waxes out there than nad's. And back strips are easier to use, less messy, better grip. This was the most awkward product I've ever used and it was painful... Of course it always is but with this product everything went wrong. Every time I used the microwave to heat it up, it was either not hot enough so half melted, or too hot so I had to wait for it to cool down. Once I got to spread the wax, it was really hard to pull it off. And didn't get all the hair so I had to reapply it, which only irritated my skin more. Precision stick that comes with it... not so precise... And the shapes are quite useless...So in overall it was a nightmare.

I've been using this wax for about 2 years now and I love it. I am so pleased to see it available on Amazon as my local high street store has stopped stocking it.

The wax does take a lot longer to heat up than the guidelines suggest, but once you know this, it's easy to simply warm it accordingly. I have found for a full tub, around 4 minutes is more or less right. For those who struggle with it, this does take a bit of practice, but it really is a good product. It does need a good stir and I have found I need to heat it a couple of times during waxing, but I tend to take longer with the process as I have found it to be more effective working in very small sections at a time.

It adheres to the hair very well and it's just a matter of getting to know when it is cool enough to pull the strip off. If the wax is not left to set long enough, you end up with tacky fingers; leave it too long and it becomes brittle and breaks.

I am going to do a subscribe and save with Amazon for this product. It's cheaper than it was in the store I used to buy it from and delivery is free.

I certainly recommend this product, but it does take a some getting used to if you have been using strips and warm wax.
