If you haven't liked other books in the Terre d'Ange series, you won't like this one. If you did, you'll probably find it as satisfying as I did. I love trying to draw the parallels between the cultures in these books and the ones in our world and we got to see a few more of them in this series. I love seeing how things have panned out in Alba as well. Maybe next time we can have something exploring the Maghuin Donn in more detail - they're such a fascinating group and Moirin has such potential for further development. I've read that there are no current plans for more books on the d'Angelines, but hopefully that will change!!
Picking up where it left off with Moirin and Bao married and heading back to Terre D'Ange to complete Moirin's destiny with Raphael. From the word go this book is straight back into the excitement of the previous book. The events that transpire, especially Raphael's madness, were gripping. What I really loved about this series and particularly this book is that I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen (the Black River!!) and was completely hooked. The ending was absolutely perfect and well worth staying up reading to the early hours!
Each trilogy was entertaining in its own right. The blend of fantasy and intrigue is very compelling. Just a couple of the books had slightly slow and heavy sections but each book deserves at least 4 stars and the overall series gets top marks from me.

A real accomplished writer who makes her books so real you almost believe that her world exists. A touch of sexiness to spice the stories adds to the delight. So much going on. Read morePublished 23 months ago by john c demet
Loved this one, almost as much as the last two. Couldn't put it down. Wish we had gotten to hear about the fat babies!Published 23 months ago by Laura
The last in the Kushiel series. I enjoyed the grand finale and was pleased to see a member of House Sharizai being a good guy (even when he was delightfully scary.)Published on 22 May 2013 by busylizzie
