Amazon Verified Purchase
This Sony Walkman with its Speakers/Charger is incredible value, and excellent quality,as always with Sony products.
I was going to buy one of the new tiny I-Pod Nanos at £113,(plus the cost of a basic dock/charger) but was put off by the far from top rating it has scored in several reviews.(They seem to have reduced the size to a level that can be too small for many adult hand sizes etc.)
when I came across this Walkman offer, I thought that at this price there was nothing to loose,and I am delighted that I made the purchase.
Sound quality is excellent, as I have always found with Sony Walkman models going "way back".Obviously the dock speaker system can not rival
a £50 plus dock,but it is solid ,very neat,nicely designed , good quality construction, and a handy storage,and recharging facility with decent sound in an average sized room.
My teenage Grandson has passed his very critical eye over it, and admits that he can't claim that his I-Pod has any better sound quality,
and it doesn't do anything that the Walkman can't.
This is an excellent space saving combination,with a stylish integrated appearance when set up.
At this price you really are getting an unbeatable bargain.
The product came within two days of placing the order,and was very securely,and professionally packaged,(with Sony guarantee etc.)

I hesitated for ages about buying this product... I looked through loads of walkmans, mp3 players, Ipods etc etc and not being great with the latest technology I had no idea what I wanted! Basically I just wanted to listen to music whilst travelling to uni and at the gym and for both of these activities it is perfect. However, since this also has a booster speaker I also use it in my house... its small enough and portable so I can move it from room to room and it plays pretty loud! It looks amazing! Music quality is awesome! It holds a lot more music than I originally anticipated and its very easy to transfer music/pictures onto so a good buy for any age! Definitely a good buy :)

I am very impressed with this, and I love the speaker/charging dock that comes with it.
I already have a different Sony mp3 player with 8gb and like the layout - it's very easy to navigate, loads of space, good sound and colourful screen. You can also drag and drop music at the computer, or use windows media player, it's very simple.
This one seemed like a bargain for what it is, even at 4gb, and I already know I like the Sony players - so I went ahead and bought it with the intention of having one for the bedroom with speaker. The layout and use is almost the same as my other one so I'm happy with that.
The speaker is great, it is pretty loud, definitely more than enough for a quiet room or a kitchen. And it's great that I can just pop the player into the dock for it to charge rather than hook it up to my laptop. You can even use the speaker with the mp3 player when the speaker is not plugged in! It is a little quieter and uses power from the player, but handy if you're traveling or no plug point nearby.
The loss of the half star is because the mp3 player volume when you listen with headphones isn't as loud as my other Sony player. The maximum volume is significantly less - when using the same headphones. It is loud enough, but I found the max was almost a little too quiet for my noisy commute to work on the train. I'm still happy to use it for quieter surroundings.
