Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Tired of typos when using your iPhone4 on-screen keyboard?Type faster and more accurately with the NUU MiniKey. Whetheryou’re texting, e-mailing or blogging, the NUU MiniKeyis a greatalternative to using the on-screen keyboard. Simply snap youriPhone4 in the case, slide the keyboard out and type away!

The navigation keys allow you to locate a particular spot on your composition with greater ease than you would by using the touchscreen. Use these with the Command and shift keys for even greater keyboard functionality.

The MiniKeyhas a range of common symbols which can be typed quickly and easily at a press of the function keys.

Edit text on your iPhone4 with shortcuts such as Command + C to copy, Command + V to paste, Command Z to undo.

The backlit keyboard makes typing in poorly-lit areas a breeze. The backlight may be toggled on or off to suit your own preference.

Ease of Use

Battery Conservation

Built-in Rechargeable Battery

Retains Signal Strength

The NUU MiniKeyconserves battery life by breaking the BT connection to the keyboard when it is left idle for ten minutes. When idle simply slide out the keyboard to wake the NUU MiniKeyand reconnect the devices.

The MiniKeyhas its own separate power source, so it won’t drain your iPhonebattery! The built-in rechargeable battery connects with an included micro-USB cable. A status LED shows you when the keyboard is charging or low on power.

The MiniKey’scase features a series of carefully-positioned metal springs that connect your iPhoneantenna to the case’s metal backing, allowing it to become one with the antenna. This connection compensates for the reduction in signal strength so common tootherproducts on the market. The springs are flexible and will not scratch your iPhonecasing.

Oh dear 30 Aug 2011
After, trying one of the cheaper keyboards I was decided that the more expensive one must be better. The keyboard is thirty pounds more expensive than the cheaper one and in all honesty I should have stuck with the cheap one. Why?

1. the keys sound like a clicker used by airbourne troops in WW2 often mistaken for a bolt action rifle.

2. The key action is very stiff even after several hrs usage.

3. The flip action whilst smooth appears to be very flimsy - I would not want to drop it whilst open ...which can happen!

4. It operates absolutely nothing else on the iPhone - if it does do anything else it's well hidden - all it does it type ( and very loudly to boot ) and for the price I would have expected more ... oh dear !

one plus - it does have back lighting on the keys - but I think I would rather have had a smoother quieter key action

so, keep your money and either get a cheaper one or plumb for the other keyboard which is slightly cheaper but appears to have more flexibility ...

Great for emailing! 24 May 2012
I decided to try the mini key having got fed up with my slow typing on the iPhone, but didn't want to switch to a Blackberry. I have to say for something so simple it really makes a difference to the speed in which I can write emails whilst on the go. It does add a bit of bulk to the phone but I have in my handbag. I would recommend this if you travel a lot and struggle to type on the iPhone like I do!

BEST KEYBOARD YET. (my last one was the boxwave, boo) 10 Aug 2011
By Leslie Hall - Published on Amazon.com
I had the boxwave then i got this one. Let me tell you why its 10 times better: 1. Backlite so i can type in the dark 2. Better keyboard layout ( as in the space bar isn't all the way to the right ) 3. Heavy duty sliding 4. WAY easier to remove the phone so i can prove to people its really a iphone. 5. blue tooth recognision is way fast.. as in NO delay. I just open it and type. I've had it for a while and the battery is proving to last which I really hope it stays that way. Super easy set up. and being able to lock the capital's button is awesome. I LIKE TO SAY IT WITH FEELINGS sometime. I hate typing on the iphone screen this thing has really nice shapes on the buttons too which make me type quick and acurate. I DIG THIS THING. I recommend.

So much better than the rest 23 Oct 2011

All I have to say is that I tried the boxwave keyboard and hated it.
This one, I LOVE!

+ Key layout is as it should be. Space bar is centered, the letter G is above V and not B like the other iPhone keyboards I've seen.
+ The iPhone fits flush inside of it.
+ It's easy to remove the phone from the case if you ever need to, but not too easy so that the phone just falls out of the case on it's own.
+ Syncing is easy. You just press and hold the button right on the front, and only have to sync it once.
+ The keyboard backlight is optional. Turn it on and off with the switch on the front.
+ Doesn't seem to have any significant drain on the phones battery.
+ Charged the keyboard when I got it a week ago and still not in need of recharging.
+ Rubber texturized so it doesn't slip and slide all over the place.
+ Solid build. No fragile feel to the keys or the case.
+ Keyboard activates within a second of sliding open.
- Backlight takes about 3 seconds to activate upon sliding open.
+/- It does add significant weight and thickness, but I'm used to a heavier phone so I like it.
- Auto-complete and auto capitalization can't be activated while the keyboard is active.
Any questions feel free to ask.

finally...buttons! 25 Sep 2011

My husband convinced me to switch from my BB to an IP4. The biggest challenge has been not having buttons especially since most of my work and personal communication is done through my phone. I got a Brookstone catalog which had a keyboard for the IP4. I didn't even know that was possible! So I headed to amazon to see what else might be out there then I checked out the tech websites to get the full story about this keyboard. It's not cheap so I wanted to be sure it had what i needed which was slightly raised, backlit keys and good reviews. I just started using it last night and this is my analysis:
very easy to setup
thickness does not bother me
I like some of the Nuu keyboard user features better that the IP4's keyboard.
It works seamlessly with the IP so i can use the touch screen as well, at any point.
Much easier for me to type with my thumbs/two hands.
I like the feel of the backside of the keyboard panel.
Sentences and "I" don't seem to autocap.
I don't !ove the spacebar location, it needs to be either bigger or more to the right for my liking.
Overall: I like it, I'm glad I got it and I would recommend it.
