Received my knife today afetr much anticipation.
Having read all the reviews about the knife, I couldn't resist a little post Christmas treat to myself.
I have to say it was NOT a mistake. What a fantastic knife and at the price, a complete bargain.
I've often thought how expensive so called "bushcraft knives" are and of course, you tend to get what you pay for.
I am, however, a novice at bushcraft and have, up until now, made do with a Mora Frost knife which has served me well.
This knife, however is everything I expected and more!
If, like me, you are new to Bushcraft, then you can't really go wrong if you buy this knife...GO ON...YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO ;)

I baught this knife on the strength of its excelent description and well shot photos which are a necesity when purchasing an item that must be carefuly considered (such as survival or bushcraft gear) so thank you for the consise info, i realy love this knife its full tang build Scandi grind and perfect balance make this a very practical and easy to care for blade, the knifes quality is excelent and imediatly aparent.. no corners cut in design manufacture or materials procured- the Walnut handle has a nice sheen and interesting paterns in the grain- the steel has a good lustre and the cutting edge has been honed to an ultra sharp condition and the sheath is finely made too it holds the blade securely but allows it to be drawn easily and has the same air of quality as the knife i wasnt familiar with this dangler style sheath before but it is a capable design that allows good freedom of movement. in summary its a realy good knife and i recomend looking at Bushcraft knife - Scandi blade made by the same craftsman.

The supplier of this Knife delivered it in less than 2 days, what can I say except fantastic. I have 3 of these knives now Oak, Walnut and Lignum. The value is outstanding at £44 even at the RRP of £85 they are outstanding value. The build is great being close to the very expensive custom makers at £100-£150+. The sheath alone is worth most of the cost. Well stitched and welted. The grind on the blade is described as Scandi well it is not quite having a very slight hollow grind but still very solid and razor sharp. Polish is adequate at this price. The embossed logo "William Rodgers I Cut My Way" is obviously a testament to the original William Rodgers of Sheffield. As to the exact origin of these knives seems to bring some debate. But in my mind they are fine for general bushcraft use and a step up from any Stainless job and has a more confident look and feel than the humble Mora range. I like them and I don't think you will better it at this price. The Oak is great at £34 quid but pay the extra and get Walnut or Lignum versions they have the edge on looks. The blade length is 3.5" slightly less than typical bushcraft knives but I think this is a comfortable length and feels robust and balanced in the hand. Great Knife, who cares who made them, it works for me. A bit of wax and tlc, you will be the envy of your fellow Bushcrafters.

such an excellent knife. its like your handing this knife out for free ! such an amazing price. if someone handed me this knife i would say its worth over £100 !. The knife itself is a work of art i am so pleased of it. the walnut handle is charming with a very nice feel to it . it's full tang and is very solidly made. i haven't used it fully yet but i am scared of how sharp it is ! the knife came with a tough leather case which the knife perfectly fits into. Great job. ! worth every penny.

Outstanding value for what is a really nice bushcraft blade.

I like the fact that it is not oversized (particularly good if like me you have fairly small hands) yet still has a decent weight in the palm. Slight bow to the blade makes it suitable for all manner of bushcraft tasks and maybe even skinning at a push.

Decent blade width and full tang looks like it will stand up well to batoning.

In response to some earlier reviews I would also note that the blade clearly HAD been sharpened and oiled immediately prior to dispatch, which was itself prompt and properly packaged.

As noted by others, the dangler sheath in what seems to be saddle leather is a beauty and allows the knife to be carried in a practical, safe and discreet manner so you don't look like some nerdy Rambo wannabe.

My only very minor gripe would concern the handle. On one side the point at which it tapers to meet the blade is uneven and not quite flush. I think this is due to the way the walnut has been cut across the grain on this side (the other side, with the grain, is perfect). I would hasten to add this is a very small cosmetic imperfection and in no way affects the functionality.

The handle is a little too glossy for my taste, but I think it should gain grip with use. If not a quick brush with glass-paper should do the trick.

The general setup, including the sheath, is similar to a Finnish knife I have which cost about the same. However in terms of quality and character this William Rodgers knife is far, far better, so in terms of value for money it really is outstanding. I would generally expect to pay at least double for a knife of this quality.
