MERINO WOOL - This pleasant-to-touch wool is taken from the coat of the merino, a Spanish high-altitude breed of sheep. These animals live in unique conditions of extremely volatile temperatures, which makes clothing from merino wool so outstanding. The construction of this wool's fibres allow clothing made from it to absorb and remove heat generated by the body, helping to regulate its temperature. After absorbing moisture - it does not cool the body like cotton. It even heats when wet. It thus ensures effective protection against overheating on warm days, and on cold days prevents the chills.
Properties of Marino Wool fibre:
° delicate and soft to the touch, "doesn't bite" like traditional wool
° self-cleaning owing to uneven scale-spiral construction does not absorb external odours, unlike synthetic fibres
° excellent isolation resulting from capacity to collect heat in internal channels constituting 90% of an individual fibre's mass
Coolmax - Draws away moisture from the body to the sock's surface, where it quickly evaporates. In this way the material prevents feet from overheating and ensures a pleasantly dry feeling, even during the most intense activities and longest hikes. The fibre's unique shape, creating four channels, ensures excellent aeration even in humid environments.
