I am almost 37 years of age, which hardly makes me a cool indie kid now does it? Yet looked at the selection on this double cd and was pleasantly surprised that, not only had I heard of a fair amount of the songs/bands on this, but also how versatile and accessible this is. Admittedly, a lot of it I'm indifferent to (probably my age), but there is enough gems here to justify buying this, plus everyone will have their own taste anyway. The important thing is, that there is something here for everyone, it's not just obscure Indie Guitar Bands, there are also a lot of well known guitar bands featured like: Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, Coldplay and The Magic Numbers etc, plus dance and pop acts like: Gorillaz, Goldfrapp and Scissor Sisters etc, plus it spans the generations because you have the likes of Paul Weller and New Order on it, and anyway you can always skip over the stuff that you don't like, but in the process of doing this, you may well discover some new bands to your liking, which can only be a good thing I think.

From France this album is amazing ! great songs ! great bands ! Here, in France, we don't have such quality (except Indochine and Noir Desir, and other bands unknown in your country !)

Compliation albums are always difficult to review - there will always be tracks you like and tracks you don't. For me this is a well put together double cd. Particularly good for those who like good, un-manufactured modern bands, but who are not prolific music byers. I buy a fair bit of music generally so did find that i already had a number of the tracks included on the CDs. That said, it also includes a number of tracks from the sort of bands that many caual music fans will have heard of but not really listened to, so it's a great way to broaden your musical horizons! A really good CD for the car and thank you for the compilers for including Razorlight's 'Somewhere Else' which was not included in the first release of the bands album, and was therefore missing from the collections of eager buyers like myself (don't you just hate it when you support a band by rushing out and buying their CD on release, only to find that they 'bling it up' with new tracks and/or special features a couple of months down the line?!!).

I love this CD because of the way I can just put it on and listen to it, without having to skip tracks I don't like, so this means that all the tracks are superb. Saying this, I can't really pick highlights off of the CD because everyone is a highlight, but some personal favourites are Gorillaz, Coldplay, The Magic Numbers, Snow Patrol, Kubb, The Ordinary Boys. I would definately advise this CD for everyone, even if your not into the indie rock genre, because once you have heard this you will love and appreciate indie music so much. I would also advise definate indie lovers to buy this album and also people who are new to indie rock. Well done NME, EVERYONE BUY THIS ALBUM NOW!
