Product Description

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a revolutionary approach to human communication and development based on the discovery that by changing how you think, you can transform what you think. It helps you to modify your thought and behavioural patterns to suit your projected goals. NLP literally "re-programs" your mind and your life - for faster learning, better relationships and greater success. NLP will change your life. It has already helped millions of people overcome fears, increase confidence, enrich relationships and achieve greater success. Now, the NLP Comprehensive Training Team, a team of counsellors, coaches and consultants, draw on years of personal and professional experience to create an effective guidebook to learning and applying this technology to achieve what you want. The reader can learn to: master powerful techniques of persuasion and negotiation; eliminate fears, phobias and low self-esteem in minutes; and learn the success secrets of top achievers. Every chapter in this step-by-step guide includes exercises to help you master specific NLP techniques, and a new 21-day programme, created especially for this book, provides the essential skills needed to achieve peak performance in business and in life. Charles Faulkner is the author of "NLP: The New Technology of Achievement" and "Success and Mastery with NLP".

Good introduction 30 Jun 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I agree with one reviewer's comments on the "clinical" writing style of the book. There's a somewhat impersonal, managemential voice to the book, and the constant, dogmatic "NLP is the answer to everything" tone ingratiates at times.

But, once you get past the style, this is a great introduction to NLP. The ideas are clearly, concisely explained and laid out in an organized fashion with plenty of headings. Like a textbook, there are 43 meaningful exercises here that lead you through all the concepts presented. I looked over quite a few NLP books before this one. This is simply the most practical, organized, learnable really, intro to NLP I've seen. Hopefully, a more personal version can be written someday.

A Great Book 28 Nov 1999
Format:Paperback
If its an understanding of NLP you're after, and the chance to practice some exercises, easily and clearly explained in plain english, then this is the book for you. I knew nothing of NLP, and after reading this book was inspired enough to go to a seminar on the subject. Now, some six months later, I am looking into taking a practitioner course. If you want enough info to make a valued decision, without being baffled by lots of technical stuff, buy this book.

By N.J.
Format:Audio Cassette
This is a useful introduction to NLP. Unfortunately, there's too much introduction and not enough application of the actual techniques involved - most of the audiobook is about how wonderful NLP will be when you learn it, not enough is instruction and exercises. Perhaps this is due to the way that the audiobook has been abridged.

However, the exercises themselves are excellent for people whose 'maps of the world' limit them in areas of their self esteem, goal setting and motivation. Worth reading if you are looking for new ways to improve your approaches to these areas.

Maybe the only book you need on NLP
This was surprisingly good. I am not a huge fan of NLP.
A lot of it consists of discredited waffle on linguistic theory and pseudoscience. Read more
