Good product, but misses some bits,

This review is from: NIX 8 Inch Hu-Motion Digital Photo Frame - X08C. Motion Sensor turns frame ON/OFF automatically when it senses you nearby. Hi-Res 800 x 600 pixels (Electronics)
Great product for its price as long as you know what you are looking for. I decided to return mine when a few things I was expecting turned out to be missing (not explicitly clear from product description). I will possibly opt for another similar NIX model with the features, and only bit more expensivePros - True 800x600 resolution. Much better than lower resolutions in some bigger brand models 8" size is way more viewable than 7" models coming at a similar price point Good looking frame with reasonably sturdy build Can show videos (mpeg4) and play mp3 in the background Support stand behind folds away fully to give a flat form factor Cons - No internal memory. It can show pics out of SD card/USB stick that has to stay with the frame Does not have the calendar/clock feature seen in other NIX models Does not have internal battery User manual has basic mistakes - however, NIX support did respond quickly to email queries with clarifications and apologies Menu navigation can be improved - misses features like sorting the slideshow based on date photo was taken For me the first 2 cons above can be rectified by opting for another similar NIX model - NIX 8 inch Hi-Res Flat Screen Digital Photo Frame, 1GB Internal Memory, Auto Rotate Sensor & Touch Sensitive Controls, Video, Photo & Music playback - TS08B Personally I am willing to pay the excess as having to buy an SD card for the frame nearly balances out. Using an SD card as frame memory means that copying photos from another SD card (of your camera) would be a bit complicated. Using a USB pen drive as frame memory means something sticks out of the frame. I think the clock/calendar feature is also worth it. Sound product nevertheless - recommend this model too if you are fine with the above.

Bought as a present for my dad. Very pleased with the frame - got what I expected and so much more!-It features a calendar/clock and you don't need to reset it (ie date, time etc) after every power-on(comes as an unexpected extra as it wasn't made clear on the product description whether it features the calendar/clock at all); -9 slide speeds - 3/5/15/30 seconds, 1/5/15/30 minutes and 1 hour; -13 slide effects; -The menu system is pretty easy; -Plays music and video, too; -The resolution is GREAT! -Some might see the lack of built-in battery and memory as disadvantages but we weren't too bothered about that. Would definitely recommend highly!

Simple but Very Effective,

I got this Digital Photo Frame when I saw it had a Motion Sensor which turns the frame off automatically when you leave the room and it resumes playing your picture slideshow every time you enter the room. For me, this is a winner as I have an SDHC card with a few thousand photos on it. I leave the card in permanently and play the photos in sequence. Every time the frame turns off by the Motion Sensor, it saves the slideshow, so that when you come back again, the slideshow resumes from the same position on your memory card. Awesome idea, this means I don't get to miss out on any of my photos and I rarely need to touch the frame.
