This Popular edition of the NIV has an entirely new page layout but matches the pagination of the previous edition, for ultimate clarity and compatibility combined. It is bound in high quality bonded leather and features a zip for added durability. There are lists of key people and events to help readers navigate their way around, a range of useful maps on the endpapers, and footnotes are arranged by column rather than across the whole page to make them easier to find in the text.
The New International Version of the Bible (NIV) was commissioned by the International Bible Society (IBS). Its mission is to reach out to people around the world with a faithful translation of God's word. The NIV was created by the Committee on Bible Translation (CBT), which is an independent body made up of renowned biblical linguists and scholars.
This edition uses anglicised text, with British spelling, grammar and punctuation to allow the Bible to be read fluently and understood more easily.
About the Author
The translators of the New International Version of the Bible were chosen from a wide range of denominations and various countries to form the Committee on Bible Translation, a working group overseen by the International Bible Society.

Was very pleased with this bible. The quality is good and the text is very readable. I would agree with the previous reviewer that the leather is a little stiff but I am sure that it will soften with use.
I have a couple of niggles with it :
1. The zip is a little fiddly to close once the bible has been opened
2. In the preface page xiv there is a list of references to well know 'Parables of Jesus' and 'Miracles of Jesus'. The references beneath each title are the wrong way round. For example, The Lost Coin and the Sower are listed under Miracles, while 5000 People Fed and Walking on Water are listed under Parables.
Neither of these are huge problems but are slightly disappointing.
The bible pages are of excellent quality (reasonable thickness, good readability) and with the zip protection I'm sure it will last for many years.

The leather cover is of good quality and while a little stiff when new I am sure it will soften up over time. The page binding appears to be well made and should serve many years of continued use. The best thing of all though is the quality of the pages; they are thin but very white with very easy to read text. My only slight niggle is with the zip which although again is of good quality it can be a little fiddly to do up after it's been fully unzipped. Overall very pleased and I am sure it will give many years of good use.

We bought 5 of these beautiful leather bound zipped NIV Bibles as presents, the presentation case was a nice addition. The Bibles are superb, just what we wanted and at a great price compared to the high street and Christian bookshops. Bible great size to take with you to church or bible study as its slimline, There is a smaller version designed for travel but we would recommend this one as being practical for travel too. Only criticism was that it was difficult to unzip fully and rezip unless we took out extra flap of zip that was tucked down spine of Bible and this was a little long, would have looked better if only a few cm's rather than 6-7cm.
The advise on the presentation case gives great advice for caring for and instructions on opening Bible so it lies flat and protects spine which means it will last for many years. There is a page for writing on if being given as presentation or gift.One of the presentation cases was damaged and Amazon gave great service in sending replacement. We liked them so much my partner decided we would keep Bible with damaged case and so advised Amazon we wished to purchase this also as it was not important for him to have a case. I now would like to own this bible and will buy myself one in the near future. Reason for 4 stars is due to zip issue other wise would give it full marks.

NIV Bible
Overall the Bible is good any easy to read. However the zip is very difficult to do up after it's been fully unzipped.
