Produces a very bright white light. The construction of this LED bulb means that the light is projected forward from a small source. The result is a cone of uniform light that is not particularly focused by the torch reflector. LED's work better with lenses. That said the light produced is far superior to a normal filament bulb, and the batteries last for ever.

Amazon have confused two of Nite Ize's products in this offer. The picture shows the powerful "Nite Ize LED 1 Watt Upgrade" but what you get is the much less bright "Nite Ize LED Upgrade". The item product numbers are LRB-07-PR1W and LRB-07-PR. If you want the bright version look elsewhere. The version delivered gives an acceptable light and long life...but it's not what is shown in their picture.

What can one say about an LED replacement bulb? Its much brighter than the filament bulb it replaces. It is also much bluer in colour. I'm sure the 'burn time' from a set of batteries is greater than before, but that stands to reason since the current draw is lower. It IS a lot to pay for a bulb, but I'm the sort that likes intriguing (and well engineered) new devices, and the Maglite torch that I have is onesuch that 'needed' an update! WARNING! It really is very bright, so don't look into it when its on!! Brilliant! (pardon the pun)

Bright as the sun
Love this upgrade. Really boosts output from my trusty old maglite. Light is bright and cold and seems just as adjustable as traditional bulb using focusing mechanism.

Good value for the price
Works great, bright light better than the old bulbs. Not as bright or as white as the Maglight version that I also have but at half the price. Overall great product.
