This Max Value NAS enclosure is the easiest way of adding data storage to your network. Network Attached Storage (NAS) offers an easy way to add addition disc space to your file server. If your network doesn't have a server then a NAS drive is a great way of adding central data storage. This enclosure also supports gigabit network speeds letting it connect at 10, 100 or 1000Mbps.
This NAS enclosure supports two 3.5" SATA or IDE Hard Drives of 500GB totalling 1TB of added storage. Raid 0 and Raid 1 are supported for data back up or expanded HDD space.
The Printer Server is easy to use simply connect a USB printer to the USB port of the enclosure to enable the printer sharing function without occupying any PC resource.

I have returned mine as disfunctional, first problem was it would not accept the default admin password. No technical support forums on the web could be found. I managed to get access and built a raid 0 disk, I found it slow and noisy. I couldn't play video files across the network for example. I deleted the raid disk to see if two single disks would work faster but at that point could no longer access it's web based control panel.

This should be a nice little bit of kit, it had all the features I was looking for and at a good price but it just didn't deliver. I setup a share with my music in it and tried streaming it to my media player but the songs would play for a few seconds and then have to buffer again. It just didn't have a good enough transfer rate... so I ended up sending it back.
