5.0 out of 5 stars NETGEAR NET WARRIOR 18 Oct 2009
Having been an owner of a LinkSys 54G router for many years I expect a lot from my system.
The Netgear 3700 is simply the best router I have come across.

Feature packed:
1) you can turn Wi Fi off when you go to bed or just want a ethernet hook-up,
2) It is super fast simultaneous DUAL BAND with 5.0GHZ both optimised for Video delivery
3) you can adjust power output of both bands - I have mine set to 25% for both 2.4GHX and 5GHZ bands - saving my electricity bill and not beeming WIFI out to the whole street,
4) The Ready Share works flawlessly - my 1Terabyte drive has NEVER locked up and I am able to sit downstarirs and steam episodes of Seinfeld to an old beat up laptop with a 2.4GHZ USB dongle...

HTTP server / FTP server all built in. Up to 4 guest accounts so your friends or business meeting people dont get given access to your local network.

WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT FROM A ROUTER????

A+ I am delighted.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent wireless router 1 Nov 2010
It's only a router but not a modem & router, so you have to use another modem with it. And the power supply comes with a european plug (the only different from the uk ones).

Excellent wireless signal and speed, but the functions of factory firmware are not enough.

5GHz signal is better for people who live in places full of 2.4MHz signals.

Worth to have one.

The Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless N Gigabit Router WNDR3700 doesn't have a modem as it's used with CABLE Broadband. (Virgin Media). I upgraded from a Netgear WGR614 wireless modem and, Oh what a difference! I now have a 1000mb (1 gigabit) network to transfer files between my NAS (Network Attached Storage) boxes and PC's. What took hours before now takes minutes. The router boasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks, WPA2 encryption and a handy little button that allows you to set up many newer wireless devices (Printers, Laptops etc) at the push of a button. The user interface is easy to use, intuitive and clear. It's also easy to turn off one or both wireless networks if they're not needed, and you can turn off the SSID broadcast name once you're all set up, to avoid the neighbours trying to logon to your network, and slowing things up. It comes with a stand, or can be shelf or wall mounted. For the aesthetes out there, it looks GOOD. This is the Aston Martin of the Router world, built for speed, with power and versatility under a crisp bodyshell. I think I like it!

This router comes without a modem, so you will need your own. Set up was quick and simple. The router itself is a modern looking shiny piece of plastic. Fine for the job. Read more
