I use this in my garden shed for my PC approx 65ft from the wireless router. it reaches through insulated brick walls and acheives a 'good' connection quality.
Simple to connect plug and play search for your wireless network enter the key and ready to go.
fast despatch and delivery from the supplier.

I am not very good with computers and their associated gadgets, so it was with some trepidation that I decided to go wireless. However, I was aware of the name 'Netgear', and after looking at several different models chose the WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 USB Adapter.
Installation was simplicity itself and only took a couple of minutes. Everything works well and I have experienced no problems whatsoever. I would certainly recommend this adapter as it seems to represent very good value for money.

I use mine with a laptop that only has 802.11n wireless capabilities built in. I have BT Infinity 2 with a 60MB connection and with this USB adapter I am able to make the most of my internet connection.

Performance is noticably quicker in both download and upload. Web browsing is also noticalbly quicker with web pages loading almost instantly. Streaming of media across my home network is also very impressive.

The only downside I could see would be for those with computers with USB3 interfaces as this adapter only supports USB2. The 802.11ac wireless standard is capable of data throughput beyond the USB2 standard capabilities. But the USB2 throughput is more than enough for current broadband connections.

I have not noticed any problems with build quality or reliability since purchasing some months ago.

Product came with an installation CD and I chose the setup option from the main menu. Things started to install and then it stopped. The main menu screen was showing but nothing was happening. I uninstalled and re-installed with the same result. Then for no particular reason I decided to move the menu screen. The screen giving the next step of the set up process was hiding behind it. For the next step of installation you can choose to press the button on the adaptor or do things manually. I put in the keypass manually and was instantly connected.
The cradle supplied is really neat and the wireless link is much faster than my previous setup. Overall a good product that works well. If it hadn't been for the screen hiding itself it would have been a 10 minute job to install.

First of all I wold like to draw your attention to the following link - http://bit.ly/1n4mZm5 [PC World - Tested: We push six 802.11ac Wi-Fi USB adapters to the limit]

Overall performance is something I cannot quibble over, however, the overall build quality leaves something to be desired.

If you are using it indoors and never likely to use it to travel about with then great... use the cradle and all is well.

To use it as a portable unit then you have some potential issues

[1] it covers up any usb port either side so width is an issue if you have only one or two ports (so require an additional mini hub)
[2] it has vertical an horizontal positions and the antenna extension spins 360, however, forget it is sticking out by at least 3 inches then you are likely to catch it and rip it out but not of the usb port, at the swivel point!
[3] constant use of switching between vertical and horizontal causes the swivel point to split open and releases the spring inside.
[4] if the unit begins to separate then it weakens the edge clips {micro plastic protrusions} which hold it all in place and then snap off which then makes the whole unit weak and flimsy.

The overall design of this is not good in my opinion but I must admit, to obtain 856Mb/s via USB 2 [according to the signal throughput via windows OS [Win8.1 Pro 64bit & Win7 Ultimate 32bit] and no difference via USB 3.0, pretty impressive. However, don't be fooled... I purchased two of these, [one was replaced within 24 hours as it arrived damaged and a part missing {the cradle},so I was refunded, obtained another from a different supplier via Amazon and and both have 'collapsed' through constant within 10 months of constant use and transfer and at over £52 each, I would expect far better quality than this and it to last a lot longer than it has.

I will not be purchasing this model again

Resolved most of the issues I had with my wireless(all the rest are due to my poor router).
Picks up signal well if it's there to be picked up.
Extension cable is fantastic - it allows for the dongle to be placed further from the pc (which is a considerable cause of interference due to its metal nature), it is also a very sturdy design which allows you to rest easy the dongle itself will not get damaged.
At £15 (special offer I think) it was an absolute steal.
Would highly recommend.

I have a 18 month old Windows 7 compatible wireless "Tenda" (not the most well known brand) USB adapter. Some months after I bought that I upgraded to BT's Infinity broadband package which (according to speedtest.net - a reliable upload and download data transfer test) delivers my mini-tower computer 37mbs download and 7mbs upload through a hard-wired ethernet connection from my BT Home Hub 2 rather than the previous 7mbs down and 1.5mbs up I was getting from standard BT Broadband.

On BT Infinity, the old Tenda wireless device only delivered 15mbs download but the full 7mbs up so I ordered this Netgear "150 mbs" adapter to ensure I could benefit from the full 37mbs download rate.

When I received to adapter, the Netgear software installed correctly and Windows was happy that the device was fully functional. However, on testing with speedtest.net the download rate was identical to the old Tenda adapter so a very disappointing 15 mbs. And in case you think it's a wireless connectivity speed issue, my cheap Acer laptop (also on Windows 7) records the full 37mbs download speed using its built-in wireless connector.

The Netgear 150 Mbps Wireless-N USB Adapter is therefore an expensive and slow way to connect to a fast wireless network. Buy a cheap alternative and save yourself £10 or so....
