I purchased this for the stock 18-55 lense that came with the Canon 500D and it fits perfectly.
It feels well made, was well packed and delivered quickly. No probs putting the lens cap over the filter.

I bought this filter as a lens protector, and it works brilliantly for this job. It doesn't add any noticeable artifacts or tint to shots (I've A/Bed quite a few shots taken with and without the lens) and fits very snugly into the 58mm thread. Additional lenses can be mounted on top of this lens without any problems as well.
