Well, i-mode is a new type of mobile internet service. The NEC 343i is already set up for it, so you won't have any complicated configuration to deal with. There's loads of information online, with news, music, sport and shopping all available when you press the special 'i' key. For example, if you're going on holiday you can search for cheap flights, book a hotel room and get a quote for travel insurance - all from the screen of your phone. You can send and receive email too, along with picture messages and texts. As well as this, there's the opportunity of downloading ringtones, games and wallpaper images.
Let's get back to the phone now. You'll be struck by the contemporary all-white styling and the wafer-thin case. The NEC 343i is just 13mm deep, making it one of the thinnest handsets you can find. There's a camera on the back, a sub-100g weight and an astonishingly small price tag when you consider the looks and the technology. If you're after classy design and the latest mobile internet services, this slim camera phone is an excellent choice.

Possibly the worst phone ever!,
By A Customer
This review is from: NEC 343i - O2 - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone with i-Mode (Electronics)
I bought this phone early in the new year beause I was getting sick of customers calling my work phone on evenings and weekends. I only really wanted something cheap and functional but all I got was cheap and nasty. The phone cuts off mid call all the time, and on connection there is so much background noise that any conversation is almost unintelligable anyway. The text function is very fiddly and the tones are infuriating. To top it off the camera is absolutely useless, you could shine a torch at it and the picture would still come out black. After a month the phone began to vibrate constantly. It then got so hot I thought I was in for a fire. Next the phone turned itself off and wouldn't come on again. It went been away for three weeks for repair then came back and broke again within 24 hrs. It then went swiftly in the bin where it belongs. I think the review says it all, do not buy one of these handsets!

Beware, drops calls,
This review is from: NEC 343i - O2 - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone with i-Mode (Electronics)
Whoever said this phone was great must be fibbing and I have some sore misgivings as a result of my experience. I have had no end to dropped calls. I have upgraded from a nokia 3210 that has served me splendidly for the past 7 seven years and this phone seemed like a good choice at the time but has fallen short of my expectations. I was just looking for a simple no-frills reliable phone for calls and the occasional messages. This phone may have some good points but they are entirely eclipsed by the dropped calls. Buyers beware.

Pretty and thats about it,
This review is from: NEC 343i - O2 - Pay As You Go Mobile Phone with i-Mode (Electronics)
This phone is very pretty, glittery white and silver. BUT the camera is not good, pictures are dark, its volume is very low and cannot be heard when taken out and about and in a bag. The only game that this phone has suffers from a spelling mistake! I do not score but rather scroe! The T9 dictionary decides to wipe itself clean once in a while as well.
