The Study Books for NEBOSH National Diploma consist of a series of three books, "Managing Health and Safety", "Hazardous Agents in the Workplace", and "Workplace and Work Equipment", designed to provide a health and safety knowledge base for those studying for the NEBOSH National Diploma. The NEBOSH National Diploma is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) at Level 6 in the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and is also mapped against the current ENTO National Occupational Standards (NOS) at Level 4 'Occupational Health and Safety Practice' and reflects the management model in HSG65 'Successful Health and Safety Management', the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guide on how organizations should manage health and safety. The books have been thoroughly revised to mirror the new syllabus, therefore they are an excellent reference source for those active at NVQ Level 4, or undertaking University Diploma programs and equivalent qualifications. They are also a valuable reference source for qualified health and safety practitioners and those with line management responsibilities for health and safety. The books where appropriate are supported by a variety of photographs and sketches (many hand drawn to show the standard required at NEBOSH examination). This book, "Managing Health and Safety", is written to the criteria for the NEBOSH syllabus Unit A (and also includes Unit CS - Communication and Training Skills; plus a summary of the Relevant Statutory Provisions): principles of health and safety management; loss causation and incident investigation; identifying hazards, assessing and evaluating risks; risk control and emergency planning; organizational factors; human factors; principles of health and safety law; criminal law; civil law; measuring health and safety performance; communication skills; training skills; and, relevant statutory provisions.
