I purchased this router as an upgrade from Zyxel's NBG-417N.
Like most Zyxel home user products, it's a compact, quiet, white box.
Was up and running within 5 minutes with easy wizard to connect to ISP.
As regards wireless, it won't make a poor signal better where there is interference or obstructions
but with a strong signal the wireless throughput is higher than the N-lite unit.
With half a dozen devices sharing the wireless the additional bandwidth is useful.
The Gigabit Ethernet connections have removed the bottleneck on our internal wired network,
the status lights clear show which devices are running at 1000Mps or 100Mps.
The admin webpage has a simple mode, but you can quickly change to the expert mode to fine-tune the setup.
Online Firmware upgrade achieved with one button click and a quick system reboot.
Additional functionality includes supporting multiple logical LAN & WLANs including a guest WLAN.
For future proofing, it supports IPv6 LAN & WAN traffic.
All in all, decent value for money.

Amazon Verified Purchase
This gets excellent reviews elsewhere for what it does. I thought it would replace my modem / router, but it doesn't do that - you need a separate modem as well as this. So dont order this if you want it to connect your telephone line to the internet and do wireless for the house. Not fair to blame the product for that, but I wish I'd understood that before I ordered it. The one I received had to be reset to factory settings before I could start with it - perhaps someone else had already returned it?

I bought this router, having spent much time searching on the internet for a router which would send wireless through a couple of walls. According to the spec, this looked the business, so I took the chance.
What a waste of time - the bottom line is that having spent literally 3 hours trying, I couldn't get wireless to work (it only worked if I ran a cable between my laptop and the router). I wish I did a more thorough search, as it transpires a few people on the internet report the same fault. Unfortunately, no solution was forthcoming via the net. The software that comes with the router is no help whatsoever, and is unweildly and cumbersome.
I do know my way around a pc, network etc but this was the one instance where I had to admit to being beaten! I boxed it back up and shall return it forthwith. To be avoided!
