I am a newly qualified personal trainer and the way the book describes the various concepts attributed to health and fitness has helped to further enhance my knowledge and has also helped to increase my confidence to personal train my clients.
The book is very easy to read and the explanations behind each of the applications allows you to design a varied and interesting training program for the novice or the avid gym goer. There is something here for everyone, so much so that I have also added certain ideas into my own training regime.
I have already recommended this book to several of my colleagues who have also purchased this book, and even one of them has gone on to do the NASM Personal training course despite already being a personal trainer for a number of years! He informed me that the depth and breath of knowledge displayed in this book had motivated him to relearn some methods that he had forgotton and he also wanted fresh new ideas on how to deliver a varied workout for each of his clients.
The way this book is written along with the extensive diagrams and photographs allows for ease of comprehension, which is something not all manuals or text books can do within this field because trying to capture the "movement" behind a technique is difficult to do from the pages of a book, but the NASM book does this very well.
Although you can purchase similar books for a fraction of the price, I would definitely say this book is worth the price and if you pick it up from Amazon you will still be making a saving!
