If i could rate this CD any higher i would, it is a great CD by NWA, and alsoa a rare CD, well worth the money and the wait to get it, any NWA fan should have this CD in their collection as it is one of the best and again one of the hardest to get hold of! RIP Eric

N.W.A.'s debut album was originally released on vinyl in 1987, it consists of various tracks not only by N.W.A. but also The Fila Fresh Crew, Eazy-E and Ron-De-Vu but the original vinyl version had Rappinstine's "Scream" which this CD edition omitted in favour for N.W.A.'s "A Bitch Iz A Bitch".

Four of the original members of N.W.A. (Yella, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Arabian Prince) had recorded music with other Los Angeles based groups before with Bobby Jimmy And The Critters, The C.I.A., Stereo Crew and The World Class Wreckin' Cru, except for Eazy-E and MC Ren.

As for The Fila Fresh Crew they were a trio made up of The D.O.C. (Doc-T), Dr. Rock and Fresh K who hailed from Dallas, Texas then relocated to Los Angeles to record their debut album Tuffest Man Alive which was partly produced by Dr Dre, four tracks from the album are featured on this.

As for the songs themselves the original and far better versions of N.W.A.'s "Dope Man" and "8-Ball" are featured on here both were remixed for their second album Straight Outta Compton, also N.W.A. went back to the Electro Hip Hop phase with the classic "Panic Zone" with The Arabian Prince on lead vocals, also this features Eazy-E's original version of "Boyz-N-The Hood" which was remixed for his solo debut Eazy-Duz-It.

Eazy-E on the one hand collaborates with Ron-De-Vu for two songs, "L.A. Is The Place" and "Fat Girl", The Fila Fresh Crew create the most funkiest hard hitting track on here "Dunk The Funk" and the sampling of The Isley Brothers "Twist & Shout!" for "Drink It Up" which is absolutely hilarious, overall I recommend this album to anyone who loves 80's Hip Hop when it was still great before it got commercialised well into the 90's.

This is not an NWA album and it's pretty poor. 2 or 3 songs are actually by NWA and none are particuarly good. Don't make the mistake I made unless you're a fan of The Fila Fresh Crew (who wrote the majority of songs on here). Dre's production isnt up to much either.
