Product Description

Product Description
"The Highway Code" is Britain's best selling non-fiction book, and in 2006 it will be exactly 75 years old. Isn't it about time that the old codger got out of the driving seat and let the real rules of the road take over? Enter "The Myway Code", the shifty, wayward offspring of the original that has priority over all oncoming vehicles and is set to drive itself to the top of the charts faster and harder than is legally appropriate. Written and laid out in a style which will be familiar to anyone who has seen, and therefore failed to read, the official book, "The Myway Code" puts its foot down and its finger up, as it rips up the L-plates and tears up the road like an XR3i full of feral children on alcopops.

About the Author
Dan Kieran is one half of the original team behind Crap Towns and Ian Vince brought us the excellent Britain: What a State in 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant AND a bargain, 22 Nov 2006
By PaddyM "Paddy" (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews
As well as making great toilet reading for the average bloke, this is a superior parody of the original Highway Code. Not an obvious "let's replace the word 'must' with 'must not' everywhere" approach, but a well thought-out and hilarious guide to the modern road. I particularly liked the bits about chuggers, skidding and box junctions as well as 16 pages of signs and signals. The only pity is that it doesn't have a dust jacket/sleeve - opting instead for a paper lined hardcover (which I'm not over the moon about, though you may feel quite differently). That said, this is a funny, funny book, printed in full colour throughout on high-quality paper. At [...]it's a bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, funny book., 15 Dec 2006
Not a book to be read in a public place, such as a coffee shop, as the loud guffaws of laughter make people nervous.

Brilliant, witty writing, sharp observation of the rather odd fascinations of road users and those what try to govern them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highway or the Myway? Code is a spot-on parody, 19 Sep 2006
The authors and designers of this Highway Code parody have perfectly captured the style and look of the original and, more importantly, they've made it insanely funny by stepping away from most of the obvious gags.
A perfect gift for both petrolheads and pedestrians alike, this is the book of the year. Expect and reject the pale imitations that are sure to follow.
