MYTH-Spent money 20 July 2004
Format:Paperback
I first discovered Robert Asprin way back when on a holiday to the states. When I got back, I flew through a thunderstorm on a 35 seater plane. I was laughing so hard the stewardess thought I was hysterical (everyone else on plane was praying). When I landed, I grabbed as many of his books as I could. Made it to Sweet Mythtery of Life and couldnt find any UK stockists (pre internet connection) so stopped buying.

Then I discovered he had written more, and bought the lot.

What a disappointment. I don't know whether my humour has changed that much, but the writing style definitely has, and this book just wasnt funny. Worse, it was a collection of short stories with zero character development. In fact, the stories were set in a previous timeframe, and the characters had abilities not used in the mainstream storyline.

Quite frankly, with all due respect to a writers abilities, this was a waste of money and has put me off buying any further MYTH books.

triple stories 20 July 2004
Format:Paperback
Very good set-up novel for the alliances book. Well written but can definatly tell the input by Lyn in that the stories have a more feminine lean. This is important however when the set up is for the next book. A comic book style publication.
Three short stories and a must for the fan, but Robert get your books into the UK shops as people over here have forgotten about you, and that is not good.

Not worth it. 11 Nov 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
8 dollars for 96 pages and three short stories? C'mon, guys! ...and only one of the three stories was at all satisfying. The first (Skeeve) story didn't need Skeeve to be there. The last (Aazh) Story didn't have a satisfactory ending - it was almost like the first chapter in a much longer story, rather than being complete. Only the one in the middle (Chumly, Tananda, and Guido) had not only a good plot, but tied the ends up. If I wasn't a completist, this would have been a waste of money, and as it was it was about 5 dollars more than it's worth.

Short but Worth Every Penny 16 Aug 2003
By Dov Sherman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Skeeve and friends are back! After Skeeve retired in the previous Myth book, I was a little worried that the Myth books might be at and end. I am overjoyed to find I was mistaken. Moreover, these three short stories, which set the stage for the upcoming novel, show that the our old friends can work just as well, perhaps even better, without the M.Y.T.H. Inc troubleshooters plot device. These stories are as funny and heartfelt as any of the Myth books. Despite its brevity, this book is well worth the price.

Back to the Drawing Board 9 Mar 2005
By machiavelli - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The first four books contained a solid, workable formula. Two characters we genuinely cared about. I miss them, and I want more of them. Everyone I've ever talked to about the MYTH books feels the same. Secondary characters like Guido, Nunzio and Spyder, while they get a lot of play these days, just aren't grabbing us the way Aahz and Skeeve used to. They're one trick ponies, and the trick's been drilled to death, whereas I don't think the possibilities of the original characters have begun to exhaust themselves yet.

There's still potential here, but I can't help wishing a really decent editor would analyze this and come to the same conclusions the fans have.
