interesting book about claudia and big sis janine

janine is borrowing claudia's clothes and makeup without asking and claudia doesn't know what in the world is going on with her sister and how she wants a makeover and all so she spies on her and sees her with a really hot guy, but for someone like claudia to not catch on right away that he's her new boyfriend was surprising to me. Janine may have been a bookworm but she IS 16 after all and people do begin dating at some point during their teenage years and they don't have to be a pretty girl to be considered someone interested in boys, but we learn that janine eventually decides to go back to being herself and I give her props for being real and not trying to change herself for a guy though she tried to in the beginning. I always found it weird that when someone other than stacey or claudia wore makeup or dressed up a lot or got a makeover they were considered bizzare for it, like in Mary Anne's makeover, Dawn's Big Date, California Girls when Mallory got one and so forth. It's teen years, of course girls are going to begin experimenting with clothes, hair and makeup at some point, honestly!
