    3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok but repetitive 21 Mar 2010

It's ok, but repetitive. Having played Ravenhearst and Return to Ravenhearst, this was not as good. It's just look for clues in a very short amount of time and rearrange a jigsaw at the end of each case file. Not sure I would want to play it again, unlike Return to Ravenhearst.

    5.0 out of 5 stars A great boredom-killer for young & old alike 18 Aug 2011
    Edition:Huntsville
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
If you're looking to keep yourself entertained or kill some time, this is your game! It is suitable for all ages & I have spent many hours with many differently-aged family members peering over my shoulder to join in! With lots of different areas to search for lots of different items, this game will keep you busy for hours. It can be replayed over & over as the items you're looking for change every time you enter a level. At the end of each level, there is a jigsaw like puzzle which can take a bit of thinking about! This game is brilliant!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Repetative 29 Sep 2012
    Edition:Huntsville
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Got this as part of a three pack so far played Huntsville and Prime suspects both of which i found repetitive and boring if you simply want an hidden objects game then you will probably enjoy this but i grew tired of visiting the same locations over and over if you want something with hidden objects and puzzles and a story to investigate as well i would recommend you try Dire Grove or 13th skull.

For those of you that do not know, the Mystery Case Files is a series of hidden object games originally on pc, and in recent years released on the Nintendo DS. The best way to describe a hidden object game is like an interactive picture puzzle book. The type of books where you have to train your eyes to find a hidden object within a shape or picture.

There are now several in the series but this review is about the first game which is of course Huntsville.

If you have played Prime Suspects or any of the later ones, you will find that Huntsville gets very repetitive. Unlike the later files such as Ravenhearst, Huntsville is just plain and simple object hunting; in spite of the fact that the game description states that it has various minigames and puzzles. The reality is all it has is just a picture puzzle minigame aside from the object hunting of course.

Don't get me wrong it is still hard to find everything, because like the predecessor games the game designers are good at disguising objects, and the picture puzzles can be tricky but it can also get a bit boring.

Like the other files this game also features the same digital time limit, and allows you a maximum of 3 hints which reset after completion or failure of each mission.

Gameplay - This can get repetitive after a while, because like I said it just consists of object finding and a picture puzzle in the same game locations within a time limit. This timer will also decrease very quickly if you try cheating by clicking all over the screen too many times.

Graphics - Graphically speaking this game is quite simply photographic and drawn objects within a rendered drawn background, and a cartoon map, so it isn't much to look at.

Good game for younger players as the time limit really puts the preasure on. Good that the game lets you go again with different clues when you run out of time.
