Took a plunge after hearing Tog on Radcliffe and Maconie-so very glad I did.
Just an epic, loud, noisy (and needs to be played REALLY LOUD) maelstrom of BIG meaty drums, epic jangly guitars with manly chord arrangements, and sleazy, insiduous, almost creepy vocals mixed with choral harmonies that at times-e.g. We shall Wish(Use your Adult Voice)-reminds me of Le Mystere de Voix Bulgares in the almost "open throat" nature of the sound...but rockin'!
This will bludgeon your senses into submission....overwhelming, with many absolute belters, such as the sequence of tracks 3 through to 6, which just carry you along on the shoulders of some mega riffs, and as for Track 10-the Little Death-epic prog does not do this justice-it's over 10 minutes long but well worth the commitment.
Track 13-Whitby Harbour- is simply, I think, a recording of the sea, and acts as something of a palate cleanser before the big push over the top of Track 14, "Yes!", the final and most chart-friendly track IMHO, although I would love a chart where most of this album appeared. Sadly, I know this is not to be, but I am glad that Colourmusic is our slightly dirty little secret....Buy this-you will not regret it!

In a sense this album is a bit of a sprawling psychedelic mess but it is absolute brilliant for it. It meanders between styles and there are some incredible riffs on there which I think I should probably feel guilty for loving but it all just seems strangely fitting!

Totally blown away by the depth of noise here. It opens with bloody shoegaze FX pedal noise, then there's Flaming Lips like wall of sound, Liars drumming, Radiohead cinematics, DFA1979 skuzzzz rock and ending with a glam rock stomper chant-along 'Yes!'. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.
