Product Description

Great Games and Accessories for the Nintendo DS from Gamesbuyer.

Manufacturer's Description

Do you sometimes dream of being a vet doctor? With the game My Vet Practice this dream can come true. Build up your own practice, decide when to build which building and which patient to treat. Every day people come to you with their animals, guinea pigs, rabbits, budgerigars, cats, dogs and even horses. Sometimes it can even be necessary to accommodate the animals and take care of them for a couple of days, so that they get well and happy again quickly. Therefore you can build extra stables and accomodations. Feeding, playing with the pets, bear company, but also cleaning up and the daily treatment are your duties. For very demanding horse-patients, you can experience interesting things about horse whispering. But although the work with pets is a lot of fun, even the best vet doctor needs some time out. Then you take your own horse and go for a long ride at the beach, on meadows and fields or through the nearby forest. Stock up new energy to become the best vet doctor of all time.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun game 11 Feb 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I have just got this game and have played on it today for the first time. You run a vets practice and you treat and care for different animals who are brought in by their owners. The more money you make, the more you can build new areas. ie a cattery for housing the cats who have to stay in. You have to buy new treatments from the shop for the animals and you get paid for treating each animal successfully.

All in all it seems quite a fun game. The voices in it are quite annoying at times (ie the shopkeepers voice and the voice of your own character) but all in all I am enjoying playing it.

If you like simulation style games its great and I imagine it will get better when I can start treating the larger animals (you have to take tests to treat certain animals but this requires money).

If you enjoyed 'My Animal Centre in Africa' then you will enjoy this one too. Theres also a bit where you can ride a horse around the grounds, but this bit is quite ard to get the hang of.

Worth getting in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy, repetitive but addictive and quite fun 25 Dec 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is indeed very easy, even very young players could complete it in a few hours. However once you have completed the 20 or so tasks, you can continue playing for as long as you want although there are no fixed goals.

There are some minor annoyances; in the animal enclosures your chracter often gets stuck because she can't seem to step around the animals due to bad programming. Secondly as the reviewer below me mentions, there are problems getting animal food at times. For the small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs and budgies) you can choose their different foods at their enclosures. If you want to feed cats, dogs or horses you have to walk all the way to your practice, choose the food in the store cupboard then walk back to the animals. This could easily have been fixed. Lastly you have no way of opening/closing your practice although customers stop coming at about 5:00 - 5:30pm. Since the day ends at 8pm, no matter what you're doing at that time, this means you have to rush around a lot during working hours between your practice, the village (where you get supplies) and the various animal enclosures.

On the plus side this game is addictive and fun, due to its repetive nature rather than despite it. It won't win any awards for innovation or graphics but it will provide you with a few hours of fun when you're bored.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its worth buying! 13 Jan 2008
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I think this game is definately worth buying if you are into the animal games that are about at the moment. It is easy and quick to complete but quite enjoyable and fun and i found it quite addictive. The voices are a bit annoying but not really bad, in fact the only thing that irritated me and even put me off picking it up and playing it was the fact i couldnt find a way of feeding my horses, dogs and cats in their enclosures, i felt as though i couldnt play the game to its best but reading the review underneath has answered that problem! The other i thing i found was at first when riding the horses it was a bit difficult to complete the ride and find out where you started in order to get back into the stable, you just have to take note of the buildings around you when you set off, otherwise if you just exit then it doesnt count for your "ride" task. All in all i would definately say give it a go, its a light-hearted bit of fun and thats what game playing should be about!

4.0 out of 5 stars good game 13 Dec 2008
A Kid's Review
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
At first I liked it but after a wile I coulden't treat a dog or a cat so I left the game. Then I started playing it again and realised that there were lots of shops and now I can look after animals. To feed them you get it from where you nurse the animal.I LOVE IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Vet Practice 14 Feb 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I at first bought my animal centre in africa but after playing it a couple of times i got bord of it very quickly.I traded it in an bought this game thinking it looked a lot similar and more fun.i wasnt disapointed at all.i like the games like the sims and zoo tycoon so it was on the same leval as them really.basicly you get set tasks to complete i.e treat a rabbit or a dog an build a kennel for the animals and whilst doing all that you have to maintain stock levals of medication and also make sure you have all the basics for a vet practice.i thought the game was really fun to play and also it imforms you of problems animals suffer and the kind of treatment they require to make them better.its not a fab game but if your a DS user like myself who doesnt enjoy all the bang bang your dead games then i would have to say give it a go!its only fun.also they do a pet hotel spin off to this game and i will be buying it so it cant be all bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game but can seem a bit boring at first 5 April 2008
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I got this game for my 7yr old daughter, at first she said she didn't like it and said it was boring but after a few times playing it she really got into it. The idea is to work hard to earn money by treating the animals and making them better, the only thing is there are quite big words when you have to diagnose the animals so she had to keep asking what it meant as she couldn't understand medical terms! When you get good at it and earn money you can buy extensions to your vet practice which will allow you to treat bigger animals like cats, dogs and horses. Overall not bad in the end but the game makers could have used simple words to describe treatments and medications so that children can easily understand them!
