Product Description

Product Description

My Telugu Roots goes through the history of Telugus living in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The author argues against the division of the Andhra Pradesh state by tying the medieval history and modern history of Telugus with the current Telangana movement. My Telugu Roots also provides detailed statistical data to debunk the arguments of regional discrimination against Nizam Telangana.

Appreciate the effort 29 April 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I finished reading this book today. Very much appreciate the hard work thats gone into it. The author has obviously done a lot of research into the history of Andhra and if anyone wants to learn about history, this is the book for you. Concise and easy to read. Now coming to the issue of Telangana, whew. He clearly tries to be as neutral as possible but clearly he sees no point in separation and I agree with him but unfortunately the relatively few don't really have a voice and the masses tend to get drawn to the one with the loudest voice even if though they are lies. I've recently has the pleasure of debating this book with a few from Telangana and they were pretty charged about it and would not listen to reason.
All in all a good read and thank you to the author for a sterling job.

Gives comprehensive history of telugu people starting from BC. Highlights the fact that current politicians are exploiting people for their own gain and how separatists are irrational and incredibly malicious. Must read for all Telugu people around the world,
Really enjoyed it 3 Mar 2012
By V. Vattikuti - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Yes I have read all the reviews and although the author in his preface makes it quite clear where his loyalties lie, I admire the author's research in the origins of Andhra and that is what I enjoyed the most.
Great reference book and would recommend it. The writing is good and simple too.

Totally Biased and without merit 17 Oct 2011
By Jagapathi - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The author has a pre-conceived ideas and to support his biased stand on a very unique issue has published a book to spread his conclusions without really understanding the realities.
