Product Description

Product Description

In this spoof of the showbiz autobiography genre, Paul Merton writes of an East End childhood, the last days of the music halls, Pinewood, success in the Sixties, hard times, depression, wives, and a rise to the heady heights of success.

From the Back Cover

Never in the history of stage and screen has there been a story quite like this… The richly bizarre life of Paul Merton began in 1930; as "Baby Paul", the infamous one-year-old star of Hollywood and the London Palladium, his career had a truly extraordinary – some may say incredible – beginning.

From war-time antics and career advice to the young Peter Sellers, to Fifties pop stardom and crazy game shows in the sixties, Paul's is a story of triumph, heartache, tears and tribulation.

Alarmingly frank, engagingly passionate, and utterly sincere, 'My Struggle' is destined to become a classic memoir of the entertainment world.

"Hysterical"

"Unbelievable"

"Astonishing"

This audio book takes you from the late 19th century travelling circus through to 1930's Hollywood and then back to London and a maze of underground passages to unlock the mystery of Billy Castel. Merton has a unique and brilliant sense of humour which is guaranteed to leave you in stitches. Take my advice, ORDER IT NOW!

I must admit I really didn't know what to expect when I got the tapes. I had only seen Paul Merton on episodes of "Whos Line is it Anyway". I must admit I couldn't stop laughing. Who else but Paul Merton could have come up with this.
