Book Description

1 Feb 2002
Annie O’Toole has a past....

The last time Annie saw Sam, they were lying in each other’s arms beneath a canopy of stars. Now Annie paces a secluded airfield at midnight, awaiting the arrival of an unmarked Navy helicopter. Her assignment: Get this Navy SEAL back into fighting form pronto–and keep his identity a secret. But who’s going to protect her from a man who looks at her as if she were a stranger and who doesn’t remember the one night she’ll never forget?

His name is Sam McKade.

Six foot four inches of tough, trained professional, Sam risked his life in an act of rare courage, saving a busload of schoolchildren from certain death. But becoming America’s newest media hero can be dangerous for a man with an undercover past. Sam could do a lot worse than this secluded beach resort. Ditto the sexy therapist who seems maddeningly familiar–if he only knew where or when. But he’s about to find out–as a dangerous enemy surfaces out of his shadowed past, leaving a trail of bodies right to Annie’s door.

Now the rugged SEAL who doesn’t believe in love or commitment is about to risk everything...because for Sam McKade, protecting this woman, this extraordinary woman, has become the most important mission of his life....

5.0 out of 5 stars This was a Great Story! 6 Mar 2002
By Kristi Ahlers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This was my first book by Chistina Skye and it will not be my last! Annie and Sam's story is great, and you have to love the Navy Seal's. Plenty of laughs, suspense, and of course romance. I loved the scene with Annie and her sister Taylor when they got drunk. Not that I advocate drinking but it was a touching moment in the story. It was priceless and quite funny. Annie is a owner of a Spa in California and meets Sam right before he goes on a mission for the Navy. Sam is not all that he seems to be and Annie finds out the truth about the man she shared several romantic moonlite nights with during a live heroic act shown on T.V. Injured during this rescue Sam finds out that he has lost his memory and is sent to Annie's Spa as a way to recuperate in peace and safety. Annie remembers all that they shared but Sam does not remember a thing. The story goes from there. A lot of suspense keeps you turning the pages, that and the hope that Sam will remember what a special thing he shared with Annie.

I will be heading out to buy more books from this talented author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting romantic suspense 6 Feb 2002
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
After a torrid affair, US Navy Seal Commander Sam McKade leaves behind Annie O'Toole to deliver information that will catch a traitor. For Sam doing his duty has always been easy until now. He always wondered how someone could betray his or her nation, but even Sam struggles to leave Annie to do his job.

However, before Sam can complete his mission, he takes a heroic side trip and rescues some children, but is injured in the endeavor suffering amnesia. His impatient superiors decide to hide Sam in the Summerwind Resort while he recuperates and recovers his memory. Employed at the spa, Annie becomes his physical therapist, but must remain silent about their previous beach romance. As Annie and her patient fall in love all over again, a traitor plans to kill Sam and Annie if she gets in the way.

Like this reviewer, readers will say if memory is correct that the use of amnesia has seen googol deployments in books. However, Christina Skye makes her two-lead characters feel human so that the audience believes the story line is fresh and the memory loss real. The plot is filled with action and a strong cast enabling fans of romantic suspense to forget the numerous previous amnesiac tales because MY SPY will head towards the top of the list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Red Lace underwear..... 31 Jan 2002
By Ginger L. Savage - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
My Spy the latest from a favorite of mine, makes you think about red lace underwear in a whole new light. This latest "Navy SeaL" love story, takes a injured Navy Hero, Sam MCKade with no memory and puts him back with Annie O'Toole, a spa owner who he shared a weekend of passion with. Annie is an overworked and stressed business woman. She also has a hurting heart who must take care of a man who does not remember her. There love story is sweet and funny. It is a delight to have Izzy back, one of Ms. Skye's favorite ongoing characters. The surprise is that I did not see the villian coming. The finally chapter where Sam meets "his kids" is a tearjerker. I still want another Draycott Abbey story out of Ms. Skye. But her last three books, have been fresh, sexy and lots of fun.
