In October 1998 my sister lost her only son to suicide. Our family has read every book we could get our hands on in order to try and help her. There is no better book out there. Mrs. Bolton does an excellant job of discribing the pain, the mistakes, and the lessons learned.

This well-written text was extremely helpful to me and
my family during an incredibly difficult tragedy, the
suicide death of a beloved son. Survivors need education
as well as encouragement from someone like Ms. Bolton,
who has truly been in our shoes. I have recommended
this book to many bereaved, even those who have not
been touched by suicide.

Having very recently lost my son and struggling to go on with my own life, this book, so excellently and honestly written, showed me that the feelings I was having were perfectly normal in the circumstances. The book helped me through the early days following my son's funeral and gave me a tiny spark of hope for the future. Ten and a half weeks on I am still struggling but I have survived so far and there were many moments when I didn't think I could go on any longer. After my son's death I just wanted to be with him, now I at least want to be able to survive this horrendous happening. I have Iris Bolton to thank for helping me to be a survivor. I would recommend this book highly to any bereaved person.
