Well it's OK I guess. Saw on al Jazeera's live blog about the Libya situation that Yusuf had written this "inspired by the popular revolutions of Tunisia and Egypt" and made it available as a free download. Nothing to lose so went for it.
It's neither good enough to like or bad enough to hate. Pretty mediocre I suppose. I was hoping for something more inspiring. The protestors in North Africa deserved better.

Protest songs haven't died. This song is up there with all the greats. One of the best songwriters in the world for sure. The previous reviewer gave this two stars....that is a crime and an insult to themselves. Mediocre...by what standards? this is classic songwriting from the lyrics to to the arrangement. It's very Beatlesque, though more George Harrison and John Lennon than McCartney. An anthem that will stand the test of time I'm sure. And I can't believe it's FREE

I don't know that Yusuf is quite as good as he was in the "Tea for the Tillerman" days, but it's great to have The Artist Formerly Known As Cat Stevens back.... Roadsinger, good as it was, wasn't perhaps the return to form that "An Other Cup" was, but this is making me intrigued about what the new album "Icon" has in store.
