My toddler and I love this book. Dont be discouraged by the age recommendation, my little girl is 21 months old and loves this book. She carries it around like a bag, and goes through the pages time after time. I can not commend the author enough - sheer brilliance. Just wish i could get a Dads briefcase.

My 5 year old just adores this book. There are lots of interesting things to explore and discuss on each page. She prances around the house with the bag over one arm practising being a mummy (I'm sure I don't walk like that....). Great for role play. The little one has now asked father Christmas for Grannys purse....

I remember when My Granny's Purse came out (when I was a teacher several years ago), and it was very novel at the time and very popular with the kids. I bought this one on the basis of that one, but didn't find it quite as good. Maybe its simply the case that a follow-up is never as good as the original. Its still quite clever although I think adults appreciate the cleverness a bit more than the children! For me, there are not quite enough things to do/turn/remove etc and I'm not sure it will capture a child's imagination for long. Probably appeals to girls more than boys.
