Perfect if you have an trusty old printer you want to keep using, but you bought a new motherboard (or even a new PC) that didn't have an old-style printer-port on it. Check before you buy, though - do you have a spare/empty standard PCI slot on the motherboard? Usually there are only two such slots. Fitting is so simple a baby could do it. The great advantage of one of these cards is, especially if you do a lot of printing such as in an office, they are three times faster at getting your data to the printer than using an on-motherboard socket. A possible alternative purchase - a parallel-to-USB converter socket - can't boast the same speed boost.

This product came to the rescue when I discovered that my new tower motherboard was designed without a parallel interface. It works perfectly, much more stable than a USB convertor.

I purchased this for a old printer of mine as my modern motherboard doesn't have a Parallel port as standard. Works perfectly with Windows 7 Pro. I just did Windows update to download the driver. All works perfectly with no trouble what so ever.
