I bought this book expecting lots of behind the scenes gossip from the Simpsons, but instead it turned out to be the really nice, light-hearted story of Nancy Cartwright's life. (How unexpected, it being her autobiography and all...) She writes of all her past roles, her relationship with her mentor as she trained and how very few people believe she is actually Bart. There are actually a few stories about celebrities who've been on the show, but no nasty ones, which actually makes the book better, you come out of it thinking "wow, this lady's just really nice". A good read if you're a Simpsons fan, even though it's more about Nancy than Bart.

Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson, is truly an amazing person. This book full of revelations of information, never revealed before! It recalls the very beginning of the Simpsons, to the present mega-status of the Simpsons. It also features anecdotes from some very famous guest starts including Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and Mel Gibson. If you are a Simpsons fan I would thoroughly recommend this book!

I recently got this book on loan at the library unfortunatly i could only have for a week before i had to take it back. It is a great behind the scenes and behind the voices look of the simpsons. Any simpsons fanatic will love this book. She tells you of her life before the simpsons and during the reign if the simpsons. I couldn't put it down. With a excellent forward by Dan Castellaneta, Homer. If you love the simpsons you would love this.

Format: Hardcover
This autobiography of Nancy Cartwright sensibly focuses on her time at the Simpsons, with behind the scenes information and a fascinating collection of anecdotes about how the cult show is put together. The section on her childhood is rather less interesting however, so the book gets off to a frankly rather dull start. But persevere, or cut to the later chapters because if you are a serious fan you really ought to read this. Cartwrights style is slightly irritating, bitty in many ways. Her attempts at humour sometimes, but not always fall flat. It is close to being brilliant but lacks the bite. Hopefully another member of the cast will do a similar book to fill in the gaps. To summarise, if you are a diehard fan buy it, if not you may not want to bother.
