This book made me laugh out loud! Not only was it fun to read but the author's descriptions of various places in France were extremely vivid--in fact, I'm planning to take a vacation in Brittany! I highly recommend this book. It's an exceptionally well-written story of life and love in a foreign land.

Smart, cheeky (often literally), bristling with energy, and cinematic, My Life As A Concubine heralds the appearance of a major literary talent. Equal parts a touching, coming-of-age story, a Franco-American comedy of errors, and a sex romp, it is written in a breezy style that turns the pages for you. Reading Robin Glasser's irreverent, erotic memoir was a wild and enjoyable ride.

I felt like I was in Paris! Not only is this rom/com sexy, it's packed with sights to see in the world's most beautiful city and lots of stuff you'd never find in guidebooks. Besides giving you the lowdown on the Parisians, the writer also takes you on an incredible journey through France. The descriptions of picturesque villages where such artists as Van Gogh and Gauguin painted, highlights of Brittany, Normandy, places known and new ones to discover, make you feel as though you are there or make you want to go. I enjoyed the writer's breezy style and her sense of humor had me LMAO! I highly recommend this book, it's a real trip!
