This set of six discs contains all twenty-six episodes of the greatly entertaining `My HiME' (or `Mai-HiME' if you prefer) anime. The series sees Mai Tokiha and her younger brother Tokumi transferring to Fuka Academy, a school that has seen a number of strange things happening. Mai is soon drawn into these strange events herself when she learns that she is one of a number of HiME, girls with special powers and the ability to summon a powerful creature known as a `Child'.
I wasn't really expecting much from this series but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The series does take some time to get going but after the first few episodes things really start to get interesting and it becomes compulsive viewing towards the end. The animation is mostly good but the series does have a tendency to overuse stock footage here and there, especially for the summoning of a Child and some of the more common attacks. The English dub was also okay but I did find it annoying at first and it did take some getting used to.
`My HiME' was a very enjoyable series and one that was well worth a full five stars.

Mai-Hime to give it it's proper title this is one of those animes that you sometimes glance at in passing and do not give it a second thought. But do not pass this one by as you would be missing one of the best school based animes going. Basicaly it's about a group of high school girls and thier ability to materialize a being called a child. These beings are like a guardian but in mecha form.The series foucuses on a 16 year old girl called Mai Tokiha and her friends Mikoto Minagi and Natsuki Kuga.As they find out from the headmaster of Fuuka Academy they have been brought together to fight monsters called orphans.But unkown to the girls there is a darker side to all of this thus being they must fight for the one thing most precious to the.The one they love.In all there are twelve Hime some of which make them selves known as the series progresses.This is a great anime so give it a chance.

Well, this is a treat for any anime fan. Why, because its mostly likely not going to offend anyone, (to be discussed a little further down), because there's hardly any profanity, pretty much zero nudity but you still get a lot of action, swordplay, (to an extent), humor, large breast jokes, (once again to be discussed further down), and above all a really good storyline spread over 26 episodes.
So the basic gist you can get by reading the synopsis so what more can i add? Well the voce cast is pretty good here, there isn't really an annoying voice in there, although saying that there is a dodgy southern american accent, but for the character its for a sultry sound like that is in an odd way kind of appealing.
So there's a little soft but quite well done use of lesbianism late in the story, good use of character interaction and its fast paced enough to keep you interested up to the end.
Extras wise there' the same trailers on each disk but you do get a short 1 - 2 minute mini episode which for all intents and purposes is not necessary and does not enhance the story, but is usually the funniest part of the show as it does regularly feature large breasts / no breasts jokes and insults, regularly featuring, ahem "inappropriate" glamour shots of the characters, in short, they are fab!!!
It is well worth buying, not only as its a good story but for the price its a steal. I really recommend it
