Product Description

Frank Cascio was a close friend of tragic superstar Michael Jackson for more than twenty-five years. In My Friend Michael, Cascio offers a deeply personal, behind-the-scenes look at the Michael Jackson he knew. Filled with never-before-told stories and intimate details, My Friend Michael is the most candid, moving, and provocative portrait of the “King of Pop” to date—a fair and loving portrait of a true American pop music icon and of a remarkable friendship that endured through triumph and struggle, scandal and controversy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read for the real MJ fan!!! 18 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As a true longterm fan you would be silly not to purchase this for the insight you get into intimate moments of Frank & MJ's frienship - he never once sails him down the river or disrespects their friendship. And you get a real insight into the backstabbing behaviours that MJ had to contend with from his inner core of advisors and staff, so sad.
Dont listen to the silly 5 minute fans of this being a huge betrayal on Cascio's behalf (Ive been a hardcore fan for 30+ years), as it's doing a great justice in settling alot of mistruths & a great character build for the real MJ as he should of really been known and appreciated.

Just one note: if you read your own reviews Frank, your words I never had any doubt in are truth, but please don't try defend your brother's 'supposed' recordings as these are not completely the complete real truth.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books about Mj 5 Dec 2011
By Bloor
Format:Hardcover
When I began to read this i wasnt sure what i was expecting.. being a huge Mj fan i read loads of books about him and they all say exactly the same thing also they usually focus on the Motown days.. how he became a star.. which does get tiring after a while as they come up with nothing new :/
This book actually shows the world what Michael was actually like.. a cheeky, fun loving, imperfect guy :) Yes the book has the bad times, but would it be the truth if it didnt? Michael is always either sugar coated in books and portrayed as a monster (of course he wasnt) in the media where as My Friend Michael actually has the best of both. You learn about the funny experiences of what Michael and Frank had together. The book really is exactly what it says in the title, My FRIEND Michael. Frank tells it from his point of view and nothing else, he explains what he saw and says what his opinion was of it.. this also gives chance for the reader to do the same thing. If you are going to read this book expect to laugh out loud, cry.. and.. kiss the corner of the book... read it to get what i mean hehe

Anyway, if you honestly think that this book is only for Frank to 'cash in' on Michael I really think you are wrong (so stop listening to the media). It is shown that he was a true friend of Michaels who dearly loved him. His loyality is obvious throughout the book and throughout his friendship with Michael even if some demons got in the way. Learn some truths about some of the people around Michael for example John McClain who is now the executor of Michaels estate..

5* and great buy for any Mj fan :)

I loved every word of this book. Cascio paints a vivid and loving memorial to the King of Pop, which showcases all his frailness and strength. A beautiful book.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing book. 29 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you're a Michael Jackson fan, you'll love this book. It is well written and gives a personal and honest account of Michael's unusual, fantastic and sad at times, life. A lot of questions about him are answered here, especially about how he was so misunderstood and used by so many people around him, people he should have been able to trust so badly who let him down, the media machine that would, had he not been a stronger person, have taken him down. The child molestations that were so wickedly levelled at him, this book lets you know the truth and how it really was for him from someone who knew him so well and was beside him for so long. Have read many books about Michael, but this one is special. Couldn't put it down.
