Great book for children wanting to practice cookery and crafting. Good for boys or girls, as designs available for either. The book provides recipes and methods for baking the various items from scratch but as a non-baker, I tend to buy plain cakes and then help my granddaughter decorate them. I could even follow the designs myself and use the book to make cupcakes for grownups' parties.

This is a super book for all budding chefs. It is full of good ideas for cupcakes and it a lovely way for parents to enjoy baking with their children. Needless to say we all enjoy the end product too! It is well illustrated and you can make your own variations to their recipes too.

My 8 year old daughter is heavily into cooking and crafts. All the books in the series have proved a great hit with her. They are well written, the instructions are clear and the photos very good. Really useful for a rainy day in.

Been kept in damp place or suffered water damage. Only just ok.

Cute and Fun Projects! 11 Nov. 2012

Ok, so I've had this book for about 8 months, and finally got around to making one of the recipes. The pictures and ideas are all REALLY cute. My 8 yr. old step-daughter takes the book down and goes through it regularly. Part of the reason it took me so long to make the project we were eyeing is because some of the ingredients needed to be purchased at a craft store and not at the grocery store. The craft store didn't have everything we needed so I had to improvise a little. We made the owl brownies (picture posted above). They turned out to be really easy, even though it looked a little complicated from the picture. It ended up being fun for both of us, and makes me want to try more. Also - the frosting recipe was really good. One of the best chocolate frostings I've had.

Nice intro for kids who's parents don't bake 29 Jan. 2013

Like my title. I bought this item for goddaughter. Her mother rarely, if ever, bakes western items and I know her daughter likes to take treats to school sometimes so I thought this was a nice book she could figure out herself. She spent Christmas day working out all the cupcakes she plans to bake. She loves the ideas for creating cupcake animals.

We got this as a Christmas present for our two girls (ages 7 and 9) who have been obsessed with cake pops. The instructions are clear and simple and there is at least one picture per page. They have no trouble reading it or following the instructions.

I gave this to my niece for her 9th birthday but I may need to borrow it. There were some really good cake decorating ideas I'd like to look at more.

Cute book but impossible creations for kids 15 Jan. 2015
By D. Pederson - Published on Amazon.com

Looks a bit difficult for a "first" cupcake decorating book. I can see my kids getting frustrated that their creations are not turning out like the professional decorated pictures.
