I love Freddie King, he's a great player and a great singer. These King Curtis produced albums (Freddie King Is A Blues Master was the other) however are a bit of a letdown. Theyre ok, but they dont catch fire. They seem to be a bit lacking in energy, which is partly down to the slightly muddy production. This is a good example of an album that would benefit from remastering.
The album seems to catch Freddie during a transition, but without any real direction or focus. Theyre are maybe one or two interesting tracks, and it's by no means a bad album, but I'd say that this ones for the completists.
