'My Fat Brother' can only pick you up, make you laugh out loud, give you a huge kick up the proverbial and make you think "God, do I sound like that.."
The story follows two brothers, Scott, the elder, a single, self confessed; 'lucky', successful poet / author and his chubbier less renowned brother Jes, who happens to have the pretty wife, great friends and home Scott aspires to.
Scott Barron may claim within his fictional poems to understand 'men', but in his book, Jim Keeble clearly does, capturing just about every emotion you could ever experience, from anxiety through elation to grief and sorrow, all fantastically presented in a story full of humour that is impossible to put down.
If you have ever been dumped, had a one night stand, neglected friends, been jealous of brothers (and sisters), speed dated, lost a loved one or have a mate called 'Big Barry' (I do !) then this is for you... if not, read it anyway, you won't regret it.
