Product Description

My Fair Viking

Tyra, Warrior Princess - She was too big, too loud, too fierce to be a good catch. But her ailing farther had decreed that her four younger sisters - petite, mild-mannered and beautiful - could not be wed 'til Tyra consented to take a husband. Alas, with no suitors begging for her hand, it looked as if the sisters would all be virgins, pinning away on a Norse vine.

Adam, Medieval Physician - And then a journey to save her father's life brought Tyra face to face with Adam the Healer. A god in human form, he was tall, muscled, perfectly proportioned. This was the physician who could cure her father, and the lover who cold finally seduce her to his bed furs.

When opposites attract...or not - Too bad Adam refused to fall in with her plans. Holy Runes! What was a lady to do but truss him up, toss him over her shoulder and sail off into the sunset to live - and laugh - happily ever after.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book 26 April 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is one of the funniest books I have read from Sandra Hill, it is the sixth in a loosely based series. In this book we meet again Adam the Healer, it is 25 years since he and his sister Adela were adopted by Selik and Rain, Adela has died from sickness and Adam is no longer a healer. He meets Tyra who has come to ask him to go with her to her Viking homeland to heal her father, he refuses, so she bops him over the head, flings him over her shoulder and kidnaps him. When he wakes up he and his friend Rashid find themselves on board her Viking longboat on there way to her home. Tyra is a big, loud viking warrior princess who thinks no man would ever find her attractive. She walks like a man, fights like a man and scratches her crotch like a man but Adam is attracted to her despite all of that. Here you will meet some characters from the previous books and say a sad goodbye to some others, but you will also laugh out loud at some of the antics they all get up to.

5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable read 25 April 2002
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is one of the funniest books I have read in a long time, as Ms Hill said it is the sixth in a loosely based series coming after The Reluctant Viking, Outlaw Viking, Tarnished Lady, Bewitched Viking and The Blue Viking. In this book we meet some of the characters from the previous books, Tykir and Lady Alinor and Bolther, the worlds worst Skald, we also say a sad goodbye to two of the characters from a previous book. This is Adam the Healer's Story and how he meet's Tyra, it is now 25 years since he and his sister Adela were adopted by Selik and Rain, Adela has died of sickness and Adam is no longer a healer. Tyra a warrior princess wants Adam to go with her to her Viking homeland and heal her father but Adam doesn't want to go this sets the scene for one of the books funniest passages when Tyra bops him over the head and flings him over her shoulder, when Adam wakes up he and his friend Rashid are on board her longship. Tyra is a big, loud Viking warrior princess who has four very beautiful younger sisters, she has no interest in marriage but her father has said she must marry first, but Adam is very interested in her despite the fact she thinks she is not appealing to men, you will laugh at Rashid who wants Adam to have a harem, at Alrek age 10 who wants to be a warrior but is very clumsy and who badly wants a father, namely Adam and Bolthor the world's worst Skald who writes about Adam the Lesser. I really think this is Ms Hill's best book so far, it is certainly the funniest and I hope she writes more of the same.

Storyline is different, Tyra is the Viking, a bold, strong woman, who has never needed a man. Adam is the Saxon she sets her sights on, only he's not willing. A truly great book, more so because of the main characters, not fitting the usual mould.
