Product Description

Monsters in Hollywood, Book 2

She agreed to everything but sex. She hadn-t counted on his monstrous creativity-

Since the day three incredibly hot men in disguise walk into her office and proved Monsters are real, intrepid screenwriter Jane Darby is obsessed with one task: to give the creatures a mythical makeover by writing a revolutionary, blockbuster screenplay. Now if only she can get over her own fear-and get the closed-mouth Michael to talk about his people.

Michael is fascinated by the demur and docile Jane, whose efforts to hold him at arm-s length hide an untapped sexual passion-a beast within her waiting to be set free. There-s only one way to get under her lovely skin: strike a bargain.
For one week, she agrees to let him do anything, anything, he wants. But Jane-s got conditions. First, no actual sex. Second, she has to enjoy it.

Jane-s not really worried. What can happen if he sticks to the bargain? After all, she-s not really turned on by the idea of Michael tying her down. Or bending her over his knee. Or-

Gulp.

Warning: This title contains hot sex, spanking, ice, light bondage, anatomically dubious positions and misuse of an electric toothbrush.

Modern young women Lena, Jane, Margo, Cali and Akta are best friends with a very special secret. They know monsters really do exist (in fact Lena falls in love with one in book 1 "Lights, Camera, Monsters") and with their help they plan to introduce them to the world by telling their unique tale in a movie.

Selected to help Jane write the screenplay is Michael, who continues to hide his true form from Jane. Jane in turn may be attracted to Michael, but fears his unknown monster form; a shape that this author hints at throughout the story.

Michael is equally attracted to Jane and after some negotiation he agrees to reveal all if she allows him to unlock the great passion he senses inside her. It is a strictly no sex deal but pretty much everything else goes as the far more experienced Michael leads Jane on a journey of sexual awakening that has them both falling in love.

The passion between Michael and Jane is red hot throughout this book and their intimate scenes positively steam the pages. The story line moves at a steady pace (what there is of it) but this book is pretty much all about the sex, pushing aside the fantasy plot I found so interesting in book 1. If you're after plenty of steamy action then this is the book for you, but after enjoying "Lights, Camera, Monsters" so much, book 2 of this series proved to be a slight disappointment. 3.5 stars

I enjoyed this book enough but for me it just didn't have the same appeal as book one. I'm not sure if that was because Michael, the lead male protagonist just wasn't written quite as well as Luke, the sexy hunk from the first book, or if it is because the first part of this series hinted at *something* of a plot and this book was merely ALL monster porn!

This book finds Michael, the second of the three monster friends, `helping' screen writer Jane with the forthcoming movie screenplay, which is set to dispel the human myth that all monsters are evil. Michael doesn't want to form any particular attachment to humans and tells himself that his attraction to shy Jane is merely sexual- the only trouble is, he isn't quite sure if he believes that himself...

Like I've said, this book is basically all sex scenes, but unlike some of the tender scenes in book one, these have very much of a `caveman' feel and are a bit aggressive in places- so be warned! Also, I don't know if its just me but I did notice that this book seemed a bit overly heavy on the description of things, including setting of scenes, when perhaps it didn't need to be. There were also a few more grammatical errors I picked up on, though it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the novel.

I didn't find Michael to be as appealing as I'd hoped either, if I'm honest- and whilst I liked Jane enough I felt that as a reader I never fully engaged with her the way I wanted to. There were also a couple of random red herrings dropped- for example Jane being able to suddenly `understand' the old monster language, which wasn't really expanded upon and seemingly was thrown in there for no reason. Hopefully this will be cleared up in book three (Which I'm moving onto shortly).

This was still a good read, just not a great one, so I'm curious to see how Henry (friend no.3) will come into things since he hasn't had a massive appearance in the series so far. Still, I think these books should be read in their intended order and if you have already read book one and enjoyed it then it would be a shame for you to stop now! Oh yeah- and don't read these books anywhere somewhere disapproving might catch a glimpse of them over your shoulder- there may be a lot of raised eyebrows and tuts of disgust!
